How to unlock the Dragonheart achievement in Beowulf - Definitive Guide

Heres my video solution for this achievement.

It has voice over that covers the techniques needed for a Carnal playthrough, but is taken from my Legend playthrough where I was focusing on the Heroic skill pathway.

Very little strategy to this fight. The dragon only has a handful of attacks and are all easily avoidable, just keep hacking his legs and when you get his health bar down, grab him and do the button prompt string to finish the fight.

No matter how easy people try to sum this achievement up.. It was not easy for me lol. Took me a little over an hour to kill it, the easy part is the tactics of the fight, whats hard is that you pretty much have to dodge every hit, for example: If you get stomped on by the dragon and you don't make it out of the dragons range within a split second you are done for. Getting pounded from the air attack won't hurt you too bad unless your health is already low. Dodging the dragons rush and getting combos increase your health but stomps will take you right back to just about to die no matter how high of health you are at.

Even though it's a simple fight it can be difficult as there is only one strategy, Stick and Move. There is one safe spot in map though. if you look left from starting position there is a flaming cart. If you stand behind it the dragon can not touch you at all.

I was on whatever the hardest was lol, sorry but I really hated the game and don't care to remember, but I just used the basic weapons you have until it breaks and then picked up whatever I could find.

Were you on Carnal or Heroic? I just finished Carnal and the trick is to keep Carnal always charged by running from spore to spore (I counted three), this way you can't die. Heroic is next, I'll let you know how it goes (I might need that cart).

I was having trouble fighting the Dragon until I stayed in the center of the area the entire time.

When he comes at you with one of his slow, predictable moves, just dodge and counterattack (LT + LS + A, then X or Y). You'll be invincible for a few seconds after each dodge. Hack at his feet with X if you've ever got a couple extra seconds.

When dodging, it helped me to remember that the single-foot stomps are a little slower than they look.

The reason this works so well is because dodging fills some of your health back up. With this method, it's difficult to fail unless you're just not paying attention.

It takes a while to chop his health down, but there's a satisfying QTE at the end. As always on the QTE in this game, keep your thumb ready on the B button.

The Dragon is the final boss, the way to defeat him is to just keep chopping at his legs while avoiding his attacks of which there are only three and easily avoidable, as soon as take his life bar down you will get you prompt to grab him then do so and follow the command prompts afterwards to take him out.

Story related achievement, cannot be missed.

The most difficult boss in the game. After all, you will fight him one on one. Take the best and most convenient weapon for you. Personally, I went through with the Legendary sword and shield. It is pointless to even advise here, everyone chooses their own tactics. You can watch the video, and already roughly imagine what and how to do better.
