The current build of this game does not require that you finish every level. You can skip particularly troublesome ones and go for the levels that net you achievements.
I did every level except for two that were giving me trouble in the last area and decided I’d go back to them after trying out the final level. I wound up getting the region complete/all areas complete achievement.
Edit: To answer a comment below, you can skip a level by completing enough that the game offers you a skip. It should give you a ‘proceed to next level’ option on your toolbar. If memory serves, you have at least two skips before you need to earn more skips back.

This doesn’t work
Edit: clarification. You can skip up to 2 levels in the world but you have to complete the last stand(final level) you can’t use a skip on the final level
