This kinda thing doesn't need a solution really, but I figured I'd just note my observation while going for it myself.
It seems to work a lot better to just rapid fire punch, instead of holding
down to charge punch. Rapid fire punches are a lot more effective at knocking off objects. Turning the Combat Power to high in a custom game may also help you knock objects away easier, but I can't fully tell if it does.

Does anybody know if knocking them into the fire counts?

Is this achievement broken been knocking off so many objects but still stuck on 3%

There are plenty of objects lying around in this game. You just need to hit them to make them fall over.
