The verses with a second controller is more work think smarter not harder. You only have to play the 10 fighters located on the top of the roster upon completion of there tower you earn a new character/rival character below them on the roster and you earn not only the characters colors but also there achievement for completing there specific character tower while also working up to unlocking all characters and character colors unlocked achievements. This second controller business is just for those who feel the need to waste time you still need all the the other achievements. 15 minutes per character tower which means you are spending 2 hours and 30 minutes earning this and progress to other achievements. or do what the other guide mentioned and waste time it's up to you, just remember your here for achievements....

Open verses, hit the three lines button to change match options, change knockdown limit to 1/ round time to 30 seconds/ rounds to 1, sign in with a second account and beat them over and over.

Every unlock requires you to defeat the unlocked opponent but the settings will carry over and make it really easy.
