How to unlock the Quack achievement in Biomutant - Definitive Guide

It looks like the cave called Gumquack Hollow is the only location with Gumducks. In the main story you visit this location and collect 5/20 Gumducks for a quest. The cave is nearby the NPC Gulp which you also met in the story.

In the cave you can find 5 Gumducks so after the story you need atleast 3 visits to complete this achievement. The respawntimer for the Gumducks looks like 1 hour and start AFTER you are leaving the location! (You can't idle there!)

It looks like you can find 6 ducks each time, so need to do this 4 times (30% each time). If you find yourself fast travelling through some missions, take a detour every few 'game days' to the floating bar, jump on your jetski, go into the cave, fight one large monster, and repeat.

This really stinks if this really is the only place to find the ducks, but I haven't come across them anywhere else yet after defeating the 2nd boss. (Maybe you can pick them up again after shooting them at that boss? Somebody else try with the left trigger if they have a game pre-2nd boss.)

Playing on Series X, in case it matters, I tried to use the save/reload method mentioned in the comments of the top solution for Angler, the achievement for catching Guppos, but just like that achievement, I got no tracking when picking up the ducks again.

I tried passing days at a nearby fire. 10 days later and neither Guppos nor Ducks returned. I quit the game, and when I say this I mean quit to menu and then to dashboard. Reloaded my save and waited 5 more days at the fire, and nothing respawned.

So I looked in my side quests and realized I had a couple left that weren't appearing on the map for some reason. One in particular is called "Aurora" and the game was constantly de-selecting it as my tracked mission at each new stage, I had to manually re-select it. This mission involves going to 4 different "tuning forks" and leading a Pilgrim to each and turning them on. So this required some time and a bunch of fast travelling.

After finishing that, when I went back to each place, both Guppos and Ducks were back!

While I didn't have any further side quests to focus on, I went ahead and fast travelled a bunch of times to kind of "simulate" doing a quest. When you fast travel, time still moves forward and I think it counts toward the time it takes the stuff to respawn. Because after fast travelling around the map about 8 times, I went back for Guppos and sure enough they were there.

Ducks, on the other hand, didn't come back.

I went in and out of the cave multiple times fast travelling and coming back. No ducks. Then I decided to jump down into where the ducks spawn and the big enemy showed up. I killed it, but still no ducks. I left the cave and saved and quit the game (to main menu, then dashboard). Continued and fast travelled a few more times and literally let an in-game day pass while I watched a video.

When I went back, the big enemy and the ducks had respawned.

Sorry for the text wall, but it may help if you're stuck getting things to respawn.

Wait until the third or fourth moon in game time make a save so if it doesn't glitch out were you have the boss an no ducks u can reload your save an try again. Also go do other stuff while your waiting fast traveling back an forth doesn't work and reloading your save trying to use the same ducks doesn't work either. Hope this helps most of the guides are pre patch.

Capture 20 Gumducks

Gumducks are a type of “animal” you are required to capture during the “Gumquack Hollow” main quest before facing the Porky Puff world eater. You are tasked with going into a location called “Gumquack Hollow” to capture these for Goop. It's location is one the border between Bricktown and Surfipelago.

At the end of this tunnel location, there is a large room with shallow water in it, where you find a number of rubber ducks floating around, which are the Gumquacks you need to capture.

This one specific area always respawns several Gumquacks, so to get 20 you can simply farm them by returning to this location a few times.

Gumducks are yellow rubber ducks that are only found (that I know of) in one location. Unfortunately you can only catch 6 at a time in this spot and you can't save, quit, reload and farm them; you actually have to wait at least 30 minutes in real time before they respawn! So just do other tasks while you wait, and after at least 30 minutes, revisit and get the remaining ducks. You will earn the trophy upon catching 20.

Gumducks are rubber duck toys, and again you will come across these as part of the story. Unlike the Sqvips, these only spawn in one location: Gumquack Hollow, where you find them during the story. Generally, they will respawn about every 30 minutes of in-game play, so after doing this story section, return another three times when you've played for a while to grab another set until you reach 20 for the achievement.

After the mission they will spawn here, in the depths of the cave:

They didn't show up for a long time. As a result, he drowned and loaded from the last point. They appeared immediately.
