How to unlock the Bought a Slot achievement in BioShock 2 - Definitive Guide

After you get some ADAM, simply buy a slot at a Gatherer's Garden. It's as simple as that and can be done in the Ryan Amusements stage.

Easy. The firs chance is after you got the first ADAM from a Little Sister (not matter how) follow the way to the next Mission Point, which is to find a Gatherer's Gardenn and buy the Fire Plasmid. If you have found Gatherer's Garden buy just the Fire Plasmid and nothing else.
Go to the enttrance of the room but do not leave. If you see the door, look to your left where you can see a way blockd by ice, melt it with your new Fire Plasmid and go into the now opend room where is a second Gatherer's Garden. All you need to do now, is to buy a TONIC SLOT with the rest of Adam that you have and then you should get the Achievment.

This is a very easy achievement, simply purchase any one plasmid or tonic slot at the first gatherer's garden you find and bingo, achievement unlocked! Easy.

Its a tonic/plasmid SLOT, as in you have to buy an extra slot so you can hold more plasmids.

Are you positive that you purchased the actual slot and not a plasmid/tonic?

I bought the 'Incinerate' plasmid.

The achievement says 'Buy one Plasmid or....'

So I think it should have unlocked????

After you deal with your first little sister, you will receive some Adam. Then you buy the fire plasmid. You will have enough Adam left over to buy a tonic slot, but you might need to wait for the next gatherer's garden for one to be available.

Once you've bought a plasmid or tonic slot, you can reload if you don't want it.

This purchase will require Adam and can only be bought at a Gatherer's Garden. You can gain Adam by rescuing the little sisters and using them to gather Adam or just harvesting them. Once you have enough, head to a Gatherer's Garden and purchase the Slot.

To unlock this achievement you will need to buy a Plasmid or Tonic slot at a Gatherer's Garden. You will need ADAM to do this. You will most definitely get this achievement through natural progression as you will need more slots to help you along the way as well as to unlock various other achievements tied to buying Plasmids, Tonics and slots.

You will be able to buy a slot at the first Gatherer's Garden that you coma across.
