How to unlock the Fully Upgraded a Plasmid achievement in BioShock 2 - Definitive Guide

Gatherers Garden will allow you to buy upgraded version of each plasmid, the further you go into the story the higher grades plasmids are available.

You will have to buy version 1, 2 and 3 of the same plasmid type to get this achievement.
e.g. Winter Blast rank 1, 2 and 3

Tip for you.
If you are at rank 2 of something, but you would really like to upgrade something else to rank 2 rather than spend the ADAM on a rank 3, save the game, purchase rank 3.
Unlock achievement, then reload.
You get to keep the achievement and you can also buy something else instead

You just have to buy a plasmid from the Gatherers Garden... 3 times. Basically. The later on in the game you get you will have access to more advanced plasmids and stronger versions of ones you already have. That is not to say that you can just buy the level three plasmid right away, you need one, then two before you can get the third one. Just keep a look out at a Gatherers Garden every time you pass one for a more advanced plasmid.

Each Plasmid has three levels which can be bought form a Gatherer's Garden or found. You can't backtrack so make sure that you collect as many Plasmids as possible. Buy any of these level three upgrades and the achievement will unlock.

To unlock this achievement you will need to purchase the second, then subsequently the third level version of any of your Plasmids. While any of the Plasmids will work for this, it can be expensive for the later levels, but it's worth the ADAM to buy the better more expensive ones, such as the Electro Bolt. I wouldn't waste ADAM on a cheaper one just for the achievement, just in case you need it, so save it up and buy the upgrades to the/a Plasmid you use often.
