How to unlock the Man About Town achievement in BioShock 2 - Definitive Guide

The 10 maps are: Arcadia, Farmer's Market, Fort Frolic, Hephaestus, Home For The Poor, Kashmir Restaurant, Medical Pavillion, Mercury Suites, Neptune's Bounty & Point Prometheus

Myself and some of the people on my friends list had an issue with never getting 2-3 maps (I didn't get this achievement until I was level 22). We resolved it by loading each map in a private game to make sure our discs were able to load the map and then playing in a few different playlists (Civil War, Turf War, Last Splicer Standing) and I got mine within 10 games after doing so. If that doesn't work, you can have friends invite you once they are in a game on a map you need (you CAN enter a match mid-game. You only need to be there at the end of the match. I got this achievement entering a Turf War match on Arcadia mid-game, and the cheevo popped up as soon as it was over.).

Not everyone needs to do this, I had some friends get this before level 10 while only playing Civil War. But this strategy worked for myself and friends who never had maps show up.

Oddly enough, this popped for me the other night on my 30th or so game in Farmer's Market. The only thing I'd done differently was play a solo private round of the only map I actually needed (Point Prometheus) right before joining a public match. I've still never actually seen Point Prometheus in a public game with other people.

Bonus Eruptus's solution to the issue with getting all the maps in public games works!...just do what it says in his comment: load the map you need in a private match, play the whole round, load up any game in public match, play till the end, and it should pop!

I can confirm that Bonus Eruptions suggestion is correct. My final map needed was Mercury Suites. I loaded it up in private, finished the match, and then joined a game on Arcadia halfway through. At the end of the match, the achievement popped.

I would also like to add that Bonus Eruptus' method for the achievement works. I've been tearing my hair out waiting for Home for the Poor to cycle through with no luck. Thanks to this, the chievey popped at the end of the match. Thanks

Not really a guide but here is a list of all the maps (10) you need to play. My advice would be to just make a checklist on excel or on your phone notepad. It will come in time but at least you will know which ones you still need.

Arcadia
Farmer's Market
Fort Frolic
Hephaestus
Home for the Poor
Kashmir Restaurant
Medical Pavilion
Mercury Suites
Neptune's Bounty
Point Prometheus

This achievement was glitchy as hell when I finally got this. Hope it is fixed now.

You just have to play each map, also i believe you actually need to play the map from the start of the match until the end.

What about game types? Are there any maps that are exclusive to game types?

Is it that you have to win? Because i played on all these maps at least twice each and no achievement.

Same here. 3 nights of solid multiplayer now, more than 20,000 ADAM, rank 17 with about 99% of that in Civil War and no achievement.

Since you only have to complete a match on these maps and not win on them, you are misinforming players when you say "...maps you need to win on." How 'bout you edit this 4-year-old solution, because the list is helpful but the misinformation is not.

would be nice if people only submit solutions to achievements which they've actually won. everything else is mere reading tea leaves...

Yeah I got this achievement but I'm pretty sure I haven't played on about half of them... Very odd. Some achievements are glitched and never pop and this one popped without me deserving it. It's the universe balancing itself out :)

To everyone still playing this:

If you play every map in a private match all by yourself and then win a match on any of the maps in a non private one, you can unlock the achievement.

-So setup a private match
-ADAM grab as the gamemode as this takes little over 3 minutes
-Grab the little sister until you win (3 min)
-Go down the list of all the maps

-Play a NON-private match and win it
-Achievement unlocked

p.s. This also works for the DLC maps, but you'll have to win on a DLC map to unlock both of those achievements

UPDATE 26-2-2014:
You cannot go to dashboard or sign out or anything similar that breaks the session for this to work. So if you prepare this, make sure to stay active in the game without backing out.

Haven't tried this for the dlc maps but it definitely worked for the normal maps. Thanks for the tip

You don't have to win the final non-private match, just finish it.

Great solution anyway. :)

This must be done in a Ranked Match.

The multiplayer levels are sections of Rapture taken from the first Bioschock game. Play at least one Ranked match on each of the follow levels and the achievement will unlock:
  • Arcadia
  • Farmer's Market
  • Fort Frolic
  • Hephaestus
  • Home for the Poor
  • Kashmir Restaurant
  • Medical Pavilion
  • Mercury Suites
  • Neptune's Bounty
  • Point Prometheus

The levels are randomly selected so it may take a little while for you to play on each level. If you are working towards "Choose the Impossible" you should have played on each level at least once by the time you get to level 40.

Note: If the host disconnects or you quit out, you won't be credited for completing the map.

You will get this if you aim for the "Choose the Impossible" trophy. In total, there are ten maps in BioShock 2 multiplayer, mostly (heavily modified) levels from BioShock 1. They are:
  1. Arcadia,
  2. Farmer's Market,
  3. Fort Frolic,
  4. Hephaestus,
  5. Home for the Poor,
  6. Kashmir Restaurant,
  7. Medical Pavilion,
  8. Mercury Suites,
  9. Neptune's Bounty
  10. and, finally, Point Prometheus.
You actually have to play a full match in each map to get this trophy.
