How to unlock the Prolific Hacker achievement in BioShock 2 - Definitive Guide

To get this you just have to hack every type of machine.

These are:
Cameras
Security Bots
Turrets
Locks
Health Stations
El Ammo Bandito Vending Machines
Circus of Value Vending Machines

This is obtainable early on because all of these feature prominently from near the beginning of the game.

What you need to do is hack one (or more) of each of these machines:

Locks
Cameras
Turrets
Security Bots
Health Stations
El Ammo Bandito Vending Machines
Circus of Value Vending Machines

Use the hacking tool gun for the Turrets and Cameras. You will need to for the cameras but for the turrets it is simply easier as they will generally attack you once you get near to them.

Simply hack one of every type of machine.

You have to hack:

* Circus of Value
* Door Locks
* El Ammo Bandito
* First Aid stations
* Safes
* Security Bots
* Security Cameras
* Security Turrets

When you hack the last one the achievement will unlock.

You can either approach the machine and hack it or use the hack tool - the latter will count towards the 'Master Hacker' achievement but be aware you might run out of (sometimes much needed) hack tool ammo.

To unlock this achievement you will need to hack 1 of each type of machine. Be sure to use your hack tool to do these from a distance to contribute towards "Master Hacker." The machines you need to hack are:

  • Security Camera
  • Security Bot
  • Turret
  • Circus of Values vending machine
  • El Ammo Bandito vending machine
  • Health Station
  • Safe

You should definitely get this before the end of the game. Either manually hack them buy standing next to them and pressing V or use the Hack Tool. The Machines are:

Cameras
Security Bots
Turrets
Locks that are normally story related
Health Stations
Ammo Vending Machines
Circus of Value Vending Machines
