Plaza of Zeal (Chapter 17 after you leave the Gunsmith)

The other Solutions are good, but I think I found the easiest way to get this Achievement.
I made a video which will show u how to get this achievement with an easy glitch.Dont forget to pick up the sniper first and than run to the spot where the handyman spawn.

The easiest way to do this is to first get his health as low as possible (don't worry about aiming only for his heart), then kill yourself. When you respawn, it should only take one shotgun blast to the heart to take him out and you'll still get the achievement.

During the Plaza of Zeal, after leaving the Gunsmith for the first time.

There is a glitch that will make this achievement quite easy. You'll want to grab the sniper rifle from the back shop. Then use the skyhook on the left side of the street, where the handyman jumps down, and get onto the balcony. Have him follow you up there, and once he's up there, you want to jump down. He will get glitched there, and basically not move. Take your time to snipe him in the chest until he dies. If it doesnt work, just restart the checkpoint and try it again. Achievement unlocked!


Alternatively, you can get this achievement the way it was meant to be attained. Use the Sniper Rifle, located inside the shop at the back of the street. Now, let the Handyman charge you, and then he will either start a animation where he coughs or fixes his arm. During this animation, you'll want to scope in and shoot his heart before he is able to move. If you fail, restart the checkpoint. Also, sniper rifle upgrades really help make this easer, so consider getting them if you don't want to use the above method.

When you leave the gunsmiths a Handyman will jump down on your right.

The Hand Cannon is the best weapon to use, when the handyman tries to hit you he will stop and hold his heart for a second. Once he moves his out out of the way shoot him in the heart.

If you miss his heart once you can reload checkpoint.

This is right after you see the gunsmith's wife and she tells you to go to the Good Time Club.

I used the same method as Ix DoN JoK3R xI by jumping on the roof and jumping back down. The handyman will not be able to jump down. Make sure you are carrying weapons you can aim down the site with.

All of the other advice is good, but I noticed that no one mentioned that you can revive and still get this. He will regenerate a small amount of health, but as long as you got a few shots into him with the damage boosted sniper rifle you should be okay. Knowing this and having a tough time on Hard, I went with the method below and it turned out being easier for me to manage.

I had trouble scoping in quick enough when he would stop, and I couldn't get him to idle out either, so instead I would let him hit me to ensure I got cleaner shots off. The sniper rifle is very accurate even if you don't scope, so once he hit me and finished coughing or adjusting his arms, I would simply no scope him at point blank. Once I got the shot, I would just run away until my shields came back up and then repeat.

After four or so hits he dropped me, but then I revived and got him on my second life. He idles after you revive, so as long as you can get a line of fire on him from a distance you can get in a free shot. If you get too close he will notice you. Just be sure to watch for him cracking his knuckles when he idles, it could block your shot. If you can't get a clean shot very often, don't worry, as long as you can manage a few shots per life you will get him. Be sure that he takes no damage from anything other than being shot in the heart (this includes vigors and weapons with splash or spread damage); you can revive as much as you like and still get the achievement.

For those that don't want to take the resource hit in your game, you can simply reload the gunsmith checkpoint after the achievement pops. You will have to fight him again, but now you can do it however is easiest for you.

I stumbled into a very easy way to do this, even on 1999 mode. I was fighting the Finkton Handyman normally (non heart-shots) and I died when he was at very low health. When I spawned back in he was non-aggressive across the map and one sniper shot to the heart killed him and got me the achievement.

There's an easy way to make the handyman glitch out and stand still for you to easily line up shots. Bring a carbine, pistol or sniper rifle.

In the Plaza of Zeal, just as you leave the weaponsmith, go right out of the shop and make the Handyman jump down. Turn around and run back a bit to make him jump at you then after he jumps, run back at the Fink Security Checkpoint barricade signs that he spawned behind and run into the corner shop that was behind him. He should go up to the signs and just stand there, cracking his knuckles occasionally. Take easy, well aimed pot shots at his heart until he's down and make sure you don't shoot his hands when he's cracking his knuckles. I did it on 1999 no problem this way and I reloaded the checkpoint a few times to make sure I could make him do it again with success. If you mess up, just reload the checkpoint.

I found a little corner when the first handyman pops up in The Plaza of Zeal. He pauses between attacks making it very easy to hit his heart. I just used the Hand Cannon. This was done on normal.

I suggest this method, I tried it several times and it always works .
The Plaza of Zeal, when you exit from the armory and Elizabeth will warn you of his arrival, come back in the armory, he does not enter. Open the doors and you will find in front of you still, every now and then will give you a few shots but will remain stationary. Use the hand cannon or carabine, shoot 8 times in the heart and he will die.

Take a sniper rifle with you as you progress through the game and try to give it the 25% damage upgrade and find the gear that gives you higher critical damage.

Once you reach the first handyman encounter at fink industries kite him around the main area with the podium, he tends to cough or pop his wrist every three leaps or when he's hit you with an attack - these are your chances to hit his heart once the animation is coming to an end.

If you mess up or the cheevo doesn't unlock once he's dead just reload checkpoint and it should put you at the gunshop exit to try again.

I managed to do it on hard mode and it took about 8-9 shots YMMV.
