How to unlock the Making Some Noise achievement in BioShock Infinite - Definitive Guide

To gain a noisemaker, you have to hit a blue pin during lockpicking.

Near the beginning of the DLC when you're on your way to the Silver Fin Restaurant, you'll come across the first lock with blue pins. Hit one of the blue pins and open the door. You can't mess this one up because all six pins are blue. After the door is open, just restart the checkpoint. You'll start right in front of the door and each time the blue pin will count.

As noted by Sergeant JibJab, "you'll come across this lock by reloading the Toy Department chapter."

If you've already completed the DLC, you'll come across this lock by reloading the Toy Department chapter.

Grea tip Sergeant Jiblab. Taking a break from Xbox One, sick of the network issues. Nothing like some good old fashion 360.

Thanks for the solution and thanks sargeant jibjab for the extra info very helpful. Worked a dream. I was rubbish at doing this during the dlc so needed this chapter reload.

Should include that chapter select info in the solution.

If you happen to miss this achievo reload the chapter Return to Rapture. Make sure your noisemaker inventory is NOT full. You have to be able to pick up the new noisemaker. Jump over the counter behind you and use 3 picks on the door. If you miss it just reload the chapter and try again. Or keep going until you pop the achievement. Note that when you pick up the 3rd one it will show the counter on the screen but it does not show on 4 and on 5 it'll just pop the achievement.

Just an FYI...if you explore everything prior, and unlock all of the doors already, then your chapter reload will not work because there is no lock to pick.

Having your inventory NOT full is important - thanks for highlighting that, as I'd gotten 6 noisemakers but it still hadn't unlocked.

Yep. And that's an important detail the other solutions are missing. Thumbs up from me.

Even if you have previously unlocked the door you can go behind the turret there and use a lockpick on it if you hadn't previously done so. Thumbs up.

Positive vote, because all other solutions are an elaboration of the achievement description and tell what to do. But yours was handy as I just completed my play through!

This is a fairly easy achievement to obtain. To obtain a noisemaker, you must pick a lock, then when the slider moves up and down the tube, you must press X precisely when it hits a blue node. You will be picking plenty of locks throughout the game, so its quite difficult to miss this one. Just be careful not to hit the red node instead because that triggers an alarm.

Sorry to hear that. Are you sure you hit the blue nodes?

Try starting a new game if it doesn't pop for you.

Can you reload checkpoint for this? There's a lock with all blue pins and wondering if I could just do that one 5 times.

Yes you could do that if you prefer. The game stacks achievement progress regardless of whether saves are overwritten.

it seems like there is a delay when pressing X. I press it, and it moves past the blue one and goes to the next one. Frustrating.

Shadow, perhaps its something to do with your controller. Are you able to try with a second controller at all? I've never heard of this happening before.

To obtain a noisemaker you must pick a lock and when the slider moves up and down the cylinder, you must press precisely when it hits a blue pin. You will be picking plenty of locks throughout the game so you should have no problem getting this trophy and should get it early on in the DLC. Just be careful not to hit the red node as that will triggers an alarm. If you want to get the trophy as early as possible, there a checkpoint right before the door where the noisemakers first appear so you can farm them by reloading the checkpoint (credit to Terminator for this tip).

You also must have room in your inventory to collect noisemakers from lockpicks. You can hold 6 in total and if you have a full inventory, the lockpicks you use won't count for the trophy so clear some space to be safe.
