How to unlock the More for Your Money achievement in BioShock Infinite - Definitive Guide

(Possible vague spoilers ahead)

An excellent place to get this achievement is in the 'Good Time Club' in Fink Industries; you will enter it after killing your first handyman. Plant your Vigour trap (your choice which) on the middle of the stage right in front of the curtain. When it raises, six goons bunched together will run straight into it. You do not need to upgrade your Vigour, nor wear a hat. You can then reload the checkpoint, received just before the attack begins, and do the same until it pops.

Also note the Volley Gun directly ahead of the stage, and RPG above that, both in a tear - you can get the kill achievement for those weapons using the same method.

That worked really well, I got the achievement reloading the checkpoint only twice. Thank you!

It worked great for me. If you happen to put two different traps down (i.e. Shock Jockey and Murder of Crows) it will give you one each.

I put down 3 traps (Shock Jockey, Murder of Crows and Devil's Kiss) and got credit for all of them at once; got all 5 in just 2 attempts.

Putting down multiple shock traps was apparently a mistake. Crows seems to work really well. Thanks

Solution worked perfectly. Thanks. Side note: Shock Jockey traps didn't seem to work for me for some reason but bronco worked first time.

I tried 8 times with eletrical or fire before getting one of five. I tried crows and got 3 of 5 with one shot. Crows work best. I think it cant be too close to the curtain or it doesnt count. On the top of the first step worked great for me. Thanks for the great solution :)

Worked like a charm. Shock Jockey did just fine for me. Better than Devil's Kiss.

Load "The Atrium" chapter and set a trap right in front of where you are started. I used Bucking Bronco, but any trap should work. Then, run directly into the middle of the next room and wait until the alarm sounds and they all begin to chase you. When they do, run back into the hallway and the trap will hit them all. Reload checkpoint as needed.

Cheers for this. Never needed to reload the checkpoint. Just ran around the area and set traps, and got all five in less than a minute.

Easiest by far, took 3 minutes.

For doing it really quickly just cast your trap again as soon as the enemies launch into the air. They wont even land before the next trap goes off.

Had almost all 5 of them in one go. Brilliant solution! Thanks for this!

This is solid but I recommend just repeating Bucking Bronco over and over - no reloads needed since the mana cost is low and it doesn't kill the enemies.

Great solution! Agree with the folks above regarding you don't have to reload though.

agree with all the above. i used the Bronco a coupla times, then a Devils Kiss for the 3rd trap and it popped without me doing any more. in less than a minute, with a starting stat of 0/5.

Though there already are 6 guides for this achievement, I still wanted to tell you the way I did it, which I found the easiest and earliest possible in the game. I did it on my 2nd playtrough on 1999 mode so really, you should have no trouble getting it this way.

Just after you get your magnetic shield, you enter the bar/church or whatever it is, the place with all the crows. The first room has a staircase in the middle, and on the left and right are 2 big rooms with on the left a bar and on the right tables with lots of fruit. It's impossible to miss.

After you clear this room you go up the stairs, and immediatly up ahead you see the "church"-room where the Crow is standing, speaking to the pilgrims (I think they are pilgrims but that doesn't matter), they're standing there with 5 of them right next to eachother and 1 extra on each side. If you just enter that room, don't jump down, just stand there from up top and cast a Devils Kiss (fire spell) trap right in between the 5. You should get 7 kills with it with no problem :) Then press start and reload last checkpoint, and do this 4 more times

I only had to do this 3 times because when I got those 7 kills, it counted as 2/5 in 1 trap and the 2nd trap counted as 4/5. Maybe cause the description says 3 enemies but you kill more than the double (7) so it counts as 2? It did for me, this is the quickest and easiest way to get it I think. Good luck!

Also, if you don't have the salts to cast Devils Kiss, as you see them standing from up top, take a left and look to the right, you'll see a trunk with a bottle of salts :)

I will try it again on another account, right when Bioshock came out it worked, maybe the updates and stuff patched it o_O

I'm in the process of getting this myself. It is not patched, you just need to be sure you are throwing the trap right in the middle of the 3 guys that make up the bottom of the V.

It wasn't counting for me either until I started aiming for those bottom of the V 3 guys

I could not get it to work. It killed several and gave me an update for the Vigorous achievement but not this one.

(Slight spoiler alert) There's a great place to get this quite late in the game ... after Elizabeth voluntarily disappears with Songbird, you cross a bridge, then it all goes white and you emerge into a snowy scene. Shortly after this, you'll encounter loads of enemies wearing strange masks - they don't have guns, just sticks to beat you with, so they will all rush at you to kill you. This is a perfect opportunity to drop a Devils Kiss trap, or any trap really. Even if you don't get 5 traps triggered in this section, there are a couple more bits afterwards with the same types of enemy.

More for your Money

Early in the game

I found a spot in the Hall of Hero's where 3 enemy's come out of a door. I put the Murder of Crows Vigor trap on the ground in front of the door once the achievement progress popped up, I reloaded checkpoint. Do this 5 times and you will have the achievement.

For this achievement I found the easiest way was to use the Murder of Crows Vigor trap. For this you'll want to get a group of at least 3 enemies close together and use the Vigor's trap by pressing and HOLDING LT and releasing it on the ground around the enemies. This will cause the group to be attacked and causing little damage for successions of times needed, or even using it again for faster results.

Once you've performed this action 5 times you'll pop this 25G achievement!

I got this by accident too.. I was going for the lost weekend achievement in the graveyard shift bar in shanty town.. I just charged a devils kiss and lauched it on the table where there were 3 people then just reloaded checkpoint 5 times, it brings you right back at the door of the bar.. You will know if it registerd by the achievement counter on the left side of the screen..

Hope this helps :D good luck

I actually just got this one by accident in the Finkton Docks. Saved up for the Murder of Crows Aid, which makes crow victims drop crow nests. Got to the part where you're chasing Elizabeth shortly after you both get kicked off the airship by the Vox Populi, and she's captured by two guards.

Tried to throw the charged Crows' Nest at them, and it hit the window in front of them. As soon as they disappeared, the screen went nuts with yellow numbers as the newly-spawned enemies hit the trap, and in turn, dropped traps that killed newer enemies running onto the screen. Before I could even reach the edge to see what was going on, the achievement popped.

I thought I would relate my experience with this achievement simply because it was effortless and required no tedious checkpoint resetting.

During Chapter 12: Return to the Hall of Heroes Plaza, after exiting the Hall of Heroes and riding sky-lines to the outside of Soldier's Field, there's a large recessed area next to the Tickets building where a bunch of enemies ambush you -- we're talkin' at least 12 guys. Using non-upgraded Murder of Crows, I got to 4/5 progression on the achievement without reloading the checkpoint.

Enemies didn't even need to be clustered all that tightly, and trap placement mattered little, as the crows do spread out to find their targets. Within 30 seconds I dispatched four sets of three enemies, all from the same firefight, with very little effort. To be honest, the Murder of Crows trap is so effective in finding targets, you should be able to progress with this achievement almost anywhere there are three or more enemies.

This can easily be done with the Devil's Kiss Vigor. Hold down for a few seconds and release the button to create a trap. Now wait until a group of enemies run into it. The blast radius is quite large, so as long as three enemies get touched by the fire, this will count. There are many areas that have lots of enemies to attempt this. Note that you must set the trap on the floor and lure them to it. Holding down and throwing it directly at a bunch of enemies will not work.

The best place I found to earn this trophy was in Comstock's House when you first meet the Boys of Silence. Deliberately walk into their spotlight to get their attention. They will awaken a large group of enemies dressed in white with George Washington masks. These enemies tend to rush you in one big group rather than hang back and shoot you like normal enemies. Simply lay a few Devil's Kiss or Shock Jockey traps around the area, get the attention of the Boy of Silence, and lead the enemies to the traps. There are four Boys of Silence in this area, so you have a few opportunities to use this method. To be safe, you can always farm this by reloading the checkpoint.

For a even easier methods to get this trophy, you could try either of these methods proposed by TriStarKaBoo and Terminator:

Just thought I'd mention a really good spot to get the More for Your Money trophy. In the The Graveyard Shift in Shanty Town, there are a bunch of guys sitting around a table having drinks in the main bar. You can drop a Devil's Kiss trap at the feet of one of the guys (I think there is about 5 guys sitting there) and it will explode taking them all out.

Reload and repeat until the trophy pops. You reload in the alley out the front of the bar so you can easily spam this. The kills are guaranteed as these are low level goons with no armour. I did this on my first Hard play-through with the basic, un-upgraded Devil's Kiss, trap took them all out, every time.

Another place you can earn "More for Your Money" is during the second Siren fight, she will always have at least 5 creatures around her so charge your Bucking Bronco and let it off in her direction. You are guaranteed to hit all of them, just reload the Checkpoint as needed.

The best energy drink for this is Raven (the one that releases a flock of ravens as a victim), we put a trap in a place where there are at least 4 enemies, and stupidly spam it, the trap acts over a very long distance so just throw it on one enemy and all the others they'll get theirs too

The easiest way is almost at the beginning of the game, when you come to the house of the sectarians (the house with the crows, where you will later get the skill with the crows) when you go up to the second floor, look down there are 9 cultists and throw them right into the middle of Devil's Kiss, load the checkpoint, do the same, and trophy in a hat))

But the main thing is not to kill everyone before receiving the achievement.

It is also convenient to use a pumped-up Devil's Kiss. With the first pumping, it turns into a cluster mine that scatters its charges over a large radius. Advantage over crows: it deals more damage, which means you won’t waste salt.

At the Shantytown location, several people are sitting at a table in a bar, take the Devil's Kiss, load it and throw it under the table, load the checkpoint since it will be right after entering the bar and do it again.

Repeat until received

You can try it there too "Lost Weekend"
