Saw the Elephant
OK! so I just finished the game and I am not going to lie, once I found this amazing trick I had no problem. I finished the ending without even messing up! Don't worry I will share my awesome strategies!
1) If you reload a checkpoint near a piece of gear, you can reload the checkpoint until you find a piece you like. It is random every time.
2) Any gear that increases your clip size, is EXTRA ammo, this means you get the increased clip amount + how much you can hold before.
3) If any of your Tears die (motorized patriot, or turrets) you can open another tear and the tear that died will respawn so you can tear it again.
4) Make sure to get possession aid, then when you run into any RPG enemies use possession on them. Since they are a pain in the butt to kill, they will suicide for you when you use possession on them. (I recommend also getting Possession for less upgrade as this is one of the most useful Vigors in the game)
5) Enemies will follow you just about anywhere, a great strategy is to run into a close-range area and let them follow you. If you do this you can take them out in fewer numbers, just keep beating on them 1 at a time.
6) Don't worry about losing your ammo when you swap weapons, you keep your ammo, you just lose the gun.
7) At certain points, you CAN skip enemies, if you know you can (like the first handyman) go right ahead. Use the rails and hooks, the enemies almost never look up.
8) Make sure to do all good deads (ex. throw ball at the announcer instead of the couple in the beginning) you will get things in the future of the game like Gear. According to Mace Reynr: "If you do throw the ball at them, Flambeau (Fink's man) gives it to you instead, praising your "savagery"." I don't know if its the same exact gear but its gear.
9) I recommend getting all Infusion upgrades in the game , max out shield and vigor as first as they are most important for my strategy.
Beginning strategy:
Gear: Electric punch Ammo Advantage Overkill Urgent Care
Weapons:
I used mainly Machinegun, and Shotgun. If I found a sniper in a good spot I made use of it until I couldnt see any more enemies or ran out of ammo.
Infusions:
I put my infusions into Shield, and alittle into health and Vigors but I filled shield up right away, so the Urgent care would be extremely useful. The shield regenerates, health and Vigor doesn't.
Strategy
In the beginning as soon as I got Murder of Crows, I made use of it. When using it in crowds of enemies they get destracted so you can melee the crap out of them. You can use the Electric punch to take down any Mechanized Patriot, as long as it was 1v1 just keep meleeing the Patriot and he won't beable to attack you. Make sure to take any heavies (RPG) or snipers before fighting anyone else. One big important thing I did was used my Possession on every mechanized enemy I saw, mainly turrets.Use it on the Mechanized Patriot to attack everyone else, and if he dies, thats just 1 less thing to worry about, if he kills everyone else, your set 1v1 against the patriot.
Ending Tactics:
So when I met the Handyman in the ending I thought I would never beable to get this done! But then I found out this awesome trick!
GEAR:
Electric punch(Hat) - The one I used gave me 70% chance that a melee target is stuned. Victim is vulnerable for 4 seconds. I know I got this because of the season pass purchase, there is a lower version of this, I do not know if everyone can find the electric punch if someone knows people without the pass can get it let me know please. The other one that is weaker is called Electric Touch which is 50% and 3 seconds.
Executioner(torso) - Melee strikes against staggered enemies add 60% chance to critical hit. Victims take 25% more damage when struck.
Vampire's Embrace(boots) - Melee kills give you health.
Possession - upgrade this all the way (Possession AID, Posession for Less) This is for the Turrets and Mechanized Patriots, possess them and let them fight eachother, usually the army wins, saving you time just for a piece of your vigor.
Charge - This one is the most important one, without it this method is not possible. Upgrade this one all the way too (Charge aid, Charge boost)
Infusions
Fill up your shield and Vigor first, those are definitely the most important. I would recommend collecting ALL Infusion upgrades in this play though.
Weapons:
I did not really use weapons, but I kept a machine gun on me and a shotgun, fully upgraded. I would say the RPG fully upgraded could come in handy.
Strategy
With this gear you don't even need ranged weapons really... The key is: When you lose your sheild use Charge, When you use 1 charge, you are invincible until your shield is fully recharged. Then while it is recharging beat the living crap out of anyone you can. Best part is if you kill anyone then you gain health back. Heavies? They are a joke, if you have full Vigor and full health they don't stand a chance. The only Heavy that can even attack you (because all the other heavies are stunned until you kill them) is Handyman, all you have to do is keep beating the crud out of him, lose your shield use Charge, and you will beat him without even needing to use a weapon.
The 3 ghosts
Sadly this tactic doesn't make her super easy, but it is the best way to fight her. 1)For the first fight, if you want you can sit on high ground and her men will almost always stay below you, every time she jumps up on the area you came from, just beat the crap out of her and use charge when your shield goes down. 2)The second time, I sat on the left side of the second level, its harder, but you eventually will get her.
For the second ghost StreightShooter said he ran into the vault when all her minions followed him, killed all of them, then ran out and he didn't have to fight her AND all her minions, instead just her alone. Thanks Shooter!
3)The third time is the hardest (for me at least) this one she will not follow you if you move to a higher ground. You have to beat the crud out of her and her army.
The ending
DONT READ UNLESS YOU WANT IT SPOILED OR ARE AT THE END
This was no problem, I had to use Songbird a total of 4 times. All you have to do is use my tactic on the incoming enemies and every time a zeppelin comes, just use songbird to blow it up. I died about 3 times, but that doesn't matter, just make sure you don't have below 500$ in case, I had about 2500. If you want to kill the Mechanized Patriots the fastest, hit them, shoot them in the back with a fully upgraded shotgun, that will make them die faster. You don't have to use any other gun. Make sure you are constantly jumping around on the rails though, it gives you a better view and helps you from taking damage.
If anyone has questions, comments, see any typos, let me know! I am so happy to finish this so easily once I found this trick out.
Have fun GL!
