A list with things you need for increasing Gathering.
Remember to have right tool equipped and energy to do the action.
Finding new things and increasing your Knowledge gives you more XP then going for same item over and over again.
Bushes, Fruit trees, Wild Herb, Shrub and Thicket you can use your hands
Meat you need Butcher Knife
Hides you need the Tanning Knife
Wood you need the Axe
Blood and Sap you need the Fluid Collector
Stone and Metal you need the Pickaxe
Wild Herbs and Crops need Hoe
Empty Bottle to collect Water
All tools can be bought from Zaaira inside Velia.
A good place to get Iron and Copper are Coastal Cave (Left side of Velia) near the Node manager Egrin.
Potatos are straight up from Mariano the small women woth the cat on the roof.
Next to Work supervisor Santo Manzini you have a few Fruit Trees.
If your planning on crafting and cooking, this will come eventually.
Not sure Fishing counts to Gathering, since it has its own XP

Fishing doesn't count. You're correct there.
One suggested method to quick gathering is acquiring armor to increase your gathering speed. And to use potions, food, and crystals to also increase the speed (to a max of +5) or to increase XP earned from doing so.
Good tactics are to get ax/fluid collectors and go to large areas of woodlands and use them on trees. Due to the density, you'll get more xp faster.
People talk about hunting gemstones, which give more xp, but they are harder to find and further spread out and not necessarily as worth it. Also, i'm not sure if those are in the console version yet.

i just wanna add this and the one for level 31 unlocked for me earlier when i logged into my created shai i dont know if that makes any difference but i just thought id say

I saw this and then created a Shai -- can confirm this and the level 31 gathering achievement unlock.

For anyone interested in AFK Gathering to power level, buy empty bottles from Alchemist in Velia or Material Vendors as in Heidel and Valencia City.
Go to river, open inventory, click on bottle and go do something else. Your character will fill bottle after bottle until you are out of bottles or ENERGY.
**Make sure you have full Energy
*** Use gemstone in ur armor for extra Gathering XP like Dim Magical Crystal: Gathering Also can use Workers Elixers if u are going to sit and watch it bc they only last 5 minutes.
***Consider Gathering Outfits that raise XP. Not sure about this one, tbh, because the ones i saw give Gathering +X but not sure if that just raises ability or XP. Once u reach Pro1 u can wear the Gathering outfits that can be bought from Luxury vendor at Port but by then both achievements have popped, but there are others in markeplace. if anyone can comment on whether those help with XP, please do.
