How to unlock the Derby Horse Trainer achievement in Black Desert - Definitive Guide

So I've received a couple messages about this actually. And here are just a few tips on working towards this.

It is a decent grind. I would auto run through the night with my Xbox on for a few extra hours a day.

Horses can auto-run, not auto-sprint

When out of a safe zone, when they move without holding the trigger button, that is considered running. When you hold the trigger, that is sprinting.

So it's a trade-off, you can auto train but you move slower, or you can play yourself and Sprint and run faster.

Then for the paths, I make sure to just try and set straight lines for long distances if possible because they'll slow down if automatically going around corners or bends. My typical path is from Heidel to the West right before the tower pass

You can set the auto looping paths by LT+X and it will loop from your location to where you set. You know it's a loop when the path is green versus one way path that is blue.

If going for the achievement, I suggest leveling lower tier horses because they level faster than higher tier.

As mentioned by PSYCHADELICACE; taming horses does give you a fair amount of XP and can level you faster. There are guides online for loops to run for horse spawns. (There are a couple on the Heidel to the West gate path that I would periodically check). Just need to be aware of the size of your stable, which can be increased through town management to hold more horses.

Horses respawn in each server instance in each location every 2 hours I believe, and can spawn 1-4 horses. It is good to get a path that takes about fifteen minutes to check, and then you can hop to other server instances if doing hardcore horse taming.

Guides online also debate how far to level your horses. I would take them to 15. Some suggest 10, and others even 5 if you plan to tame a lot. I didn't have that much time so I would idle train which took longer. Past 15 is worthless because of the XP needed. When done, you can register the horse on the market for some decent amounts of silver if it has perked out decently enough.

You can also buy a training gear outfit on the Central Market and use the Life XP boosters when the horse is a low level to try and get extra boosts. It is good to invest in these sooner than later, and use the boosts if you do plan to tame horses.

I know you can find additional guides on the internet as the PC version is pretty similar to the Xbox version. But this game is a hefty grind, and there is a lot of information out there over it.

Good luck, and if you have comments or need something clarified, I'll do my best to help but I am by far no professional haha!

I updated the solution with the mention of taming, crediting you for reminding me.

Stupid question but for autorunning and consuming feed etc which bag does it need to be in yours or the horses?

I left the carrots in my own inventory and they would eat it from there.

They only automatically eat it when the Stamina is very low, close to 1-3% of the bar remaining.

I haven't played this game in a while so I'm unsure of any specific changes. But when I played it was only good to level them to like 15 or so before selling them. If it's a horse you plan to keep, then yeah, you can keep leveling it up.

So I have a rough idea, how many tier 1 horses trained to 15 does it take?

That's a pretty good guide there, thanks! Though as far as keeping to level up goes, I gotta admit that I find this extremely daunting... I disliked it so much so that I let my account to be powerleveled by a proffesional from https://mmoauctions.com/black-desert-online/power-leveling. It was cheap and fast and have no regrets whatsoever, cause achievement like Derby Horse is grinding biased and I didn't have to do it, I can easily focus on playing Black Desert Online and having fun!

Everything @Hannan says false. You don't need to grind mobs to hit soft level cap. Just keep questing. End game of the game is PvP (sell point for %99 MMO players) and there's also Karma system. Nobody will just kill mid 50 level player trying to do quest. Game never was advertised as party play. There's literally no hacks other than small advantage to people with keyboard and mouse adapter and then any skilled enough player can pull most advanced combos. It's sounds like game is not for you and you didn't get far. So yeah... Everything you are saying is BS, quit that shit.

When I first started playing BDO, it was actually a decent game, but as you play the game you start to realise that everything you read about the game is false.
There are no PVE servers even though it only shows 1 as pvp.
every server is a PK server, but on all servers except for the PVP one, you can stay out of pvp but only if you stay at lvl 49 or below, and there is almost nothing to do till you hit lvl 56+.
All the grinding spots needed to level from 50 to 61+ are full of players just hanging around to PK you, new players don't stand a chance.
For the last month of this post it has gotten much worse, the PK'ers have started to hang around on world boss spawn locations and outside of towns waiting to kill you as you try to do anything or go anywhere.
Most are using exploits and speed / attack hacks as well.
There is no party play, you literally get penalised for being in a party.
Basically put, what could of been an awesome game with such potential has turned to total cr*p game, and if not for the fact I have a friend on BDO I talk to daily I'd of quit a good while ago.

if you get a wagon with 4 horses you can level 4 at a time but its slower because it evens out the xp between all horses also you can auto loop and wont need feed for the horses.

Now I am diving into SWTOR discovered from a site, and also thanks to the site that offers SWTOR power leveling services to help me level up quickly in the game.

If you play BD, and don’t stupidly wait for the platinum to jingle, buy the Isuro Whip from the groom, sharpen it to +10, and before mounting the horse, put it in the tool slot. While traveling about our business, we fly L2 sprint and constantly, all the time, use the horse’s skills, for example, Dash to O.
All this quite cheerfully pumps up the horse, and with it the taming skill.
You can speed up the process of leveling up Taming a little - after receiving a nag to lvl, you can leave it in the stable and take a new one, lvl 1, because After lvl 15, getting the next ones already costs a noticeable amount of experience.
BUT.
The higher the horse's level, the more Taming of the Persian is upgraded.
If you don’t fly anywhere, don’t bother catching ungulates and just play, then when the character reaches lvl 50-55 in the story line of quests, this trophy will be in your pocket.

one of the boring trophies.
You need to pump up the level of horse training, for accelerated advancement you will need: clothes of a trainer or horse trainer +5 (+40% to profession experience), clothes from the shop for 2200 pearls (+20% to profession experience), also elixirs for 1 hour (+ 20% to profession experience).
This is a way to level up by running on a horse from point A to point B in AFK mode or online mode (with your own hands you have more experience than in AFK)

They also give a lot of experience for catching wild horses, this requires food for the horses and a rope for catching, we look for spots of wild horses, catch them, and lead the wild horse with a rope to the nearest stall for registration (if on the way the horse is killed or you, then let's start all over again)

For myself, I found a relatively quick way to level up Taming to the “Expert 1” level. To do this, we get to the port city of Epheria , near it there are two clearings with wild horses, 3 each, and not far from the clearings there is a groom with whom you will need to register the horses.

To successfully catch horses, 3 conditions are necessary:
1. Level at least “Apprentice 5” to be able to use the lasso (this level can be easily improved by riding a horse);
2. The presence of a sufficient quantity of lasso in the inventory (purchased from the groom);
3. Having a sufficient amount of brown sugar in your inventory (you can craft it yourself or buy it at an auction).
The capture of a wild horse itself is quite simple (I first pulled out a lasso and a piece of brown sugar onto the quick access panel). We approach the horse, activate the lasso by pressing we catch the horse and begin to pull it towards us. If she rears up at the same time, then quickly press and within 10 seconds by quickly pressing We go through a mini-game of tug of war with a horse: the task is for the slider to be on the right side after 10 seconds. We continue pulling up until we approach the horse (we repeat everything when rearing up again), after we approach, we feed a piece of brown sugar 3 times and try to saddle the horse by pressing If successful, then we take the horse to the groom for registration; if not, then we repeat the taming process.
When registering, depending on the rank and level of the horse, you can get from 15% of the taming level and much more. On average, catching 6 horses in these two clearings resulted in a level of taming. According to observations, the respawn time of horses at spots ranges from 1 to 2 hours. But having multiple servers allows us to do the same procedure on other servers.
So, if you have time, you can start catching and selling horses (for a horse of a good rank and level with a good set of skills, you can earn decent money at an auction), so as not to waste time on AFK running around.
PS: Well, of course, additional robes, potions and cooking will speed up the leveling process.

1) To make it even faster, you can buy a “Certificate: Best Cart” on the market (or craft it yourself in Altinova), harness 4 horses to it at once and cycle the race.
Experience per 1 horse is less, but total experience per 4 horses is more.
2) At the “Stone Heath Pasture” in Media there is a daily challenge to catch a horse. The reward is taming experience + trotter training ingredient

The horse can be looped, forcing it to return to the beginning and repeat the route.
On the map you need to press and use a square to indicate the 2nd point, then the route will be highlighted in green, not blue.
I recommend making sure that at each end of the route there is nothing preventing the horse from turning.
This way you can leave AFK pumping at night or any other time without your supervision.
