Once you have unlocked the Drone, you can purchase this Ability from an Upgrade Portal. Simply pay the required Blue Orb amount, and then whenever you are using the Drone, press 
to drop a mine. Use this once to unlock the trophy. You can spend more Orbs to upgrade the Ability, but it really isn't useful as you won't be using the Drone all that often for combat, so I would just unlock the base Ability, use it once for the trophy, then forget about it.
Note that this ability must be purchased to use it, so make sure you don't spend all your Orbs on other abilities or you will have to grind it out at end game.
