just a tip you can add to your post, use the machine gun. it takes down the shields quicker than the rifle.

Just did this. works fine. I'd also like to add that aparently, kills from normal mode and hard mode playthroughs do add up together.

I cannot do this achievement. I have taken shield down with my clones and myself well over a hundred times and still no achievement. What am I doing wrong?

You can't reload this checkpoint? I killed him and reloaded and it saved as it left to reload...

After grinding for three hours, plus doing my two campaign playthroughs, as well as attempting to farm all 50 off one enemy, I can almost guarantee you need to kill the enemy after breaking the magic armor.

To confirm this method definitely works. Popped after about 35 kills (so i had 15 from campaign)... drop the shield once per turn, kill the guy & restart checkpoint

FYI you can get a handful of these per reload, the shield guys can all pop up a magic armor, just don't kill them all (or reload quickly if you do).

Alright this is by far the worst achievement in this game.

It's not terrible, but you're going to want to blow your brains out grinding this.

When I did it, I beat the game once, and attempted to grind it out just so that once I was done the game on HARD I would be done. It took roughly 2-3 Hours of grinding.

This one's a tad glitchy, you might have to do more shield drops than 50. The campaign itself has about 10 shielded enemies (can be more if you sit around, but for the sake of this guide lets say 10.)

The clones MUST be the ones to take down the shield.

Rewinding time to put the shield back up and have it drop again DOES NOT COUNT.

Whether Reloading Last Checkpoint, or dying saves your kills is unclear, but here's how I did it.

Load up Chapter Two, get to the part where the first enemy shows up, and kill him. Don't farm him or anything, go ahead and get a clone shield drop or whatever on him, but kill him.

Next up kill the enemy with the Large Physical Shield.

Then about 6 guys spawn. This is the important part. Kill all 3 spear enemies that throw the ranged spears. At this point one of the regular club and shield enemies should pop a shield up. If it does, use a one shot rifle (I used the Old Wars Rifle which I got from a Chest during my normal run.)

Back up and unload a whole clip into the guy with the shield, allow yourself to reload, and then rewind time (LB) until the point where you started shooting. After this, stay roughly in the same position (as the enemies can run outside of their previous path, making your clone not hit them at all), and unload about another half clip into them, then rewind time again. This SHOULD drop the shield, if it doesen't, rewind time and pop 4-5 more shots into him and rewind again.

ONCE THE SHIELD IS DOWN. Shoot the plant that on the wall (the one that leads to a chest), and dash up to it and jump to the chest. Stand on the chest otherwise you'll slide back down, and wait about 45-90 seconds.

After that, jump back down and one of the guys should have his shield back. Do the same method as before. (EACH SHIELD COUNTS EVEN IF ITS THE SAME ENEMY, AS LONG AS THE SHIELD DOESN'T RETURN FROM A TIME REWIND)

Once again, to be on the same side, make sure the clones' shots are the ones that take out the shield. If you fire one round and the shield drops immediately after, chances are you took it down and it doesen't count.

Continue to do this, and it'll eventually pop. If you accidentally kill all the guys (which I did once) I just let myself die, and continued grinding.

It sucks, but it will eventually pop. Might take a while, and could take more than 50.
