You do not need to collect 10 unique totems for this achievement, you can get the same one multiple times and it's tracked. So if, like me, you either abandoned by this point or aren't bothered about getting all of the collectables a great way to just get this achievement is at the start of chapter 15 where there are 3 totems very close together. Without spoilers, you start the chapter, walk forwards a bit, turn around and then there are 3 totems in a row, a short distance apart just keep walking, all hanging from the ceiling.
I was only on 5/10 at that point. Got these 3, reloaded the checkpoint and the cheevo popped when I collected the second one again. There may well be other totems in the game near checkpoints but chapter 15 is a great place to complete this if you're still short.

Lol.. maybe you can explain the first one in chapter Six. I've watched a few videos and when the screen goes black I'm supposed to see one hanging. I dunno if my tv (4k hdr) is way too dark or what. I may try old tv while waiting..
I move forward and I can get to next photo so i know I missing one in between the darkness.. the totom u break to get a photo ya....
