How to unlock the Blood and Dust achievement in Blasphemous 2 - Definitive Guide
Veredicto is the weapon of choice here. Additionally the first prayer you find, Peteneras to the Burial of the Lights absolutely melts this guy.
Veredicto memory upgrades are appreciated. I had all the level 1 upgrades.
Alterpiece favours can add some damage bonuses, if possible go for:
The traitor (+10% damage)
The scribe (build fervour quicker)
The bishop (+10% prayer damage)
The choirmaster (increased chance of criticals using prayers)
Assuming you've been explorig the map and haven't rushed straight here then there will be an NPC outside the boss room who will offer to assist you. Accept their help, if available.
You do not need to be in close to the boss, the reach of Veredicto is deceptively long. Sticking close to the boss makes it difficult dodge away far enough to avoid damage, so stay at mid range.
This boss is also the easiest for a no damage run, for Flawless Penance.
You will need to learn the 5 phase 1 boss attacks:
1. A short, low swipe: easily dodged away from.
2. Purple energy projectiles (random mix of high and low): duck, jump, slide or just cling to the wall and jump over everything.
3. Exploding AOE circles: often paired with the above projectile attack. Just stand in between them and the boss. Duck or jump to avoid.
4. A long reaching overhand strike - dodge away, but your starting point needs to be mid-range or you will get punished, harshly! The red flash and audible ping is your signal that this attack is coming. Slide straight back in and punish.
5. Charge/rush attack: the boss will spawn glass out of his back and run at you. Get to your nearest wall and use it to jump over the boss.
Number 5 is easily the best/longest punish window.
Any time you can fire your prayer (Down + B), do so. You can regain enough fervour to fire again in only 2-hits with this set up.
You should be done before phase 2 even starts.
If phase 2 begins, the boss does a long animation to begin where you cannot damage. He will regen some health during this animation - it can’t be helped.
Phase 2 is quite hectic. It's very similar to phase 1 but there will be rubble falling from the ceiling and the boss has some new projectile attacks including:
1. Firing waves of glass along the ground: jump over.
2. Throwing glass in to the ground/at you from high: dodge
3. Charge/rush attack from phase 1 is higher: you must be at the highest point of the grab-able walls to be able to clear this attack.
If you're not bothered about the no damage run, phase 2 is actually quite challenging. I would thoroughly advise you to chase the no damage run, as it is actually just the easiest way to beat this boss anyway.
