How to unlock the Post-Mortem achievement in Blasphemous 2 - Definitive Guide
Ending C is the third ending added to Blasphemous 2 after the Mea Culpa DLC. It requires completing most of the content added in the DLC in order to achieve this ending.
As you likely understand by this point: spoilers
The main requirements are:
-Having met the requirements for "Ending A"
-Having the "Prayer to the Penitent One" quick verse
-Having the "Mea Culpa" weapon
I won't describe the Ending A requirements in full, but in short, you'll need the Incense of the Envoys item gained from burning the four gilded Altarpiece figures. These are found throughout the game, and when equipped into the Altarpiece correctly, they turn completely gold. Bring them to the Chapel of the Five Doves, and the locked door on the right opens. Burn them, get to the end of the game, then offer the Incense to access the final boss.
The important and relevant information is in relation to the new DLC prayer and weapon. To get these, you need to complete the DLC by following the quest line of the Mud Lady. Shown below is a video (not by me), which follows her quest line. You'll need to fully explore the Icebound Mausoleum, and bypass the Prisoner to gain access to the final step of the Mud Lady quest line.
At the end of her quest line, it directs you to travel to Santa Vigilia, the other main region added with the DLC. You can get there from the Veredicto room in Sacred Entombments, or through the Severed Tower. You'll quickly find your way to a red ribboned door (shown in the cutscene), which leads into the first of two boss fights. This first boss fight, when defeated, provides you with the Mea Culpa weapon.
Now, continue through Santa Vigilia, until you reach the second boss fight. The area is fairly linear, so the main difficulty is the enemies.
After some travelling, you reach the second boss of Santa Vigilia. Defeat them to gain access to a small room on the right with three statues representing the original three weapons. Return to the three weapon locations found in the base game (edge of Sacred Entombments, Palace of the Embroideries, and Crown of Towers) to fight a version of yourself which uses a simplified moveset. Defeating all three and returning to the original room gives you the "Prayer to the Penitent One" quick verse.
Finally, return to the ending of the game. Equip the quick verse, then enter the final fight. As long as you defeat this boss with the Mea Culpa weapon, alongside the quick verse, Ending C is unlocked. No need to fully fight with the Mea Culpa; just the final hit.
