I did this at the end of Mission I on easy difficulty.
Shoot the boss' head until he staggers and reveals a weak point in his chest. Then shoot that to damage him.
After four or so cycles he will flash red. Shoot his head as normal, then when his weak spot is revealed, get close and melee it twice to kill him and the achievement will unlock.
