How to unlock the Brawler lvl. 3 achievement in Blazing Chrome - Definitive Guide
In order to get melee kills, you need to allow your character (Doyle or Mavara) to get close to the enemy and tap the 'fire' button. With the enemy in close enough proximity, the melee attack will auto-select.
If you want to grab this achievement right away, rather than gettting it organically, I recommend farming the first level in the section where you can pick up the blue mech. Skip it, and work your way through the area as enemies rush from the front and behind, and loads of opportunities for melee kills.
NOTE: Using the 'melee only' characters (unlocked after beating the game on 'Easy') will NOT count towards this achievement. You must use the gun-wielding characters to progress on this.

Not 100% sure but I don't think the melee characters work for this achievement, which is ironic. To be safe I would use the two regular characters. 👍

Can confirm that playing as one of the two 'Melee' characters does not count towards the Brawler Achievements.
You can see your progress towards certain achievements if you look at the 'Stats' in Blazing Chrome's 'Achievement' menu, and playing as the melee characters doesn't add to the counter.
