After your first playthrough (on easy for example) you will unlock the 2 Hidden Melee Characters (Raijin and Suhaila - a Ninja and some kind of a Bionic Girl). I used the Ninja for my 2nd playthrough (again on easy) and can also confirm that this Achv and the Mirror Mode Achv can be done together. Cheers!

I just realized the Ninja character has a charge shot. It's really useful for long-range attacks if you know there will be projectile enemies or lots of enemies coming up.
