Make your running back/half back the rookie and get 2000+ yards. Every game, do as many running plays as possible - going for the 2pt conversions using a running play doesn't count though. The closest competitor will get roughly 1750+ and you'll get the achievement with a couple of games to spare during the season.

During a campaign season with a running back as your rookie run the ball a lot. You can check the status of your rookie under the “Statistics” tab on the Campaign Menu.
