How to unlock the Orphan of Kos achievement in Bloodborne - Definitive Guide

The boss is just crazy! Damage from his hits removes half of the XP. He can also throw some kind of long-range meat of his own production! Personally, I found it easier to use bone marrow ashes and a good supply of ammo! With accurate shooting you can remove half of this monster's XP! You can also catch him with a fatal attack, but I only managed this once because this scarecrow quickly comes to his senses and I simply did not have time to reach him! The moonlight sword also deals good damage to him!

You need to try to hit when he jumps on you and hits with a slight delay. We run up and hit.
In the second stage it’s about the same, but wait for the moment when he has already made a blow and stops a little.

To hold (see) the weapon from this boss, you need to get the “Euphorium” rune from Adeline (Research Halls, 1st floor).

I advise you to take Ludwig's blade, which is taken in this DLC, and upgrade it as much as you can (I managed to upgrade it to +9) because... his boss doesn't like him very much. In phase 1, he hit with backstabs, after jumping in phase 2, he switched to the “who-who-who” mode with pauses for healing and hopes for a successful dodge)))

The best way to fight this boss is by going into the water.
There is much more space and fewer lightning strikes.

He is very afraid of lightning, more than the lasso. Either we put the gems on a zipper or with paper

The boss is quite easy, but crooked like an infection. A kind of local Midir, he also doesn’t do anything, but if he hits, he’ll hit well. We use the blood of the monster (from 40 insight and more), lightning paper, backstem, parry and the creature will fly off in a couple of minutes. On my first playthrough I spent 40 minutes on it. The winning attempt took about 3 minutes.

The boss is fierce but quite predictable, we use one-handed weapons that are as fast as possible. The tactics are as follows: we run back 15 meters, either stand or walk towards him, as soon as he starts to run away we simply run under him. There are two developments: either he jumps, we run under him and hit him in the back, or he starts swinging, just run up without a jerk and hit him while he waves his weapon. The simplest is the first stage. The second stage is better to rebound from his jump and at the moment when he comes to his senses after the blow.

A risky option, for those who at least a little love hardcore and spectacular battles: take a relatively fast weapon (even the starting saw-axe will do) with pumping at +10, buy electric paper and monster blood clots. We go and “rush” the boss, we stay mostly close and, at any opportunity, we do a backstep (a stronger attack from behind and a subsequent fatal blow). At the second stage, nothing changes - we hit the boss in the same way, simultaneously dodging his attacks.

The boss is really hellish, I came to him at level 75-78, I don’t remember. It’s most convenient to fight on the water; it’s better to avoid his attacks using his left hand, so the chance of getting hit in the face is reduced. The second stage, as for me, is random. Sometimes, just by some miracle, he missed, in response he hit him with a weapon with lightning paper. Killed 80 times since the 80th (this boss turned out to be my kryptonite) with a saw-axe +10, the boss was stunlocked every 4-5 hits, no matter how quickly they were delivered (he could make 2 hits, after 20 seconds 2 more, the result was a stunlock )

I killed him the second time. Strictly on reposts. We approach as soon as the arm swings, we shoot, we jump, press R 1. The number of reposts depends on the weapon, the main thing is not to interrupt the series. In this case, the wings do not grow, since the boss remains in the first phase and dies. By the way, after such a murder, the Orphan remains standing on the embankment until the lock is restarted.

the boss is not as difficult as they describe him, if you play carefully you can kill him on the first go, I did the same, called an ally to help and beat him to pieces, hit him 1 or 2 times and dodge the blows while he aggravates on you, your partner must repeat the same thing and so on until phase 2, as soon as he releases his wings, a saw-lawn mower (+9) can help a lot, if your partner has one, then in this way you can take away 6-8 thousand health from the boss at a time, that’s all you need to figure out the moment and hold down L2 (there should be enough stamina, with 160 stamina it takes 3-4 thousand HP from one hunter, if there are two of you, then there will be even more damage) with this method, when you cut the boss, he doesn’t have time to do anything, but here you need a smart ally and battle-hardened skill.

I failed about 15 times. The tactics are as follows with Ludwig's sword at +10 and a lightning buff: We wait for the jump and as soon as he jumps we slide under it, turn around and hit with a charged attack, followed by another short blow and immediately a rebound. This way we remove 50% of HP. Then, when he begins to grow wings, at this time you have 3-5 seconds to apply 2-3 hits as follows. When the boss has about 30% of his line left, he simply goes crazy, but at the same time the accuracy of his attacks drops greatly and with due care he can be charged 3 hits at a time. At the end of the battle, the bone of the old hunter can greatly help in order to equalize the difference in speed.
Ps Scythe, of course, is such a creature!!! )))

I will describe my battle tactics, because you may consider me a pervert, but it was very interesting for me to fight with the Orphan, in contrast to the boring, dull and lengthy battle with Vicar Lawrence.

Runes : Claw Mark (maximum), Blood Drain (+300), Communion (+4), Radiance.

Weapons: Ludwig's Sword +10 (one-handed grip), blunderbuss +10.

First stage: we work on parries and crits, which, due to “Blood Steal,” restore our health. Believe it or not, by the tenth attempt, I managed to survive the first stage of the Orphan using only a couple of bottles of blood. To do this, you need to not be afraid of Scythe and restore health only if its level drops below 50%. The combat tactics are simple: we don’t run away, but rather try to stay close to the boss, forcing him to attack, while trying to parry his attacks and gradually deprive him of life with crits.

Second stage: here I managed to parry him only a few times and after a series of failures, I chose a different tactic. We dodge his attacks, trying to get behind his back, and then we work with the sword, and we deliver at least 5-6 blows. It turns out that Ludwig's Sword in a one-handed grip can even become a Scythe! It is also worth considering the fact that when the Orphan summons lightning (standing with his mouth open to his ears), he can get at least 3-4 hits with impunity, after which it is advisable to move away from him with rolls. The lightning barrage itself is nothing at all, the main thing to know about it is that lightning rolls in waves, between which you can easily dodge. At this stage, you will need a lot of first aid kits, because the chosen tactics involve close proximity to the enemy, which entails receiving a sufficient amount of damage. After killing Kos, I was left with 6 blood vials and 2 mercury bullets.

I sincerely wish everyone to have as much fun fighting the final boss of the DLC as I did! And even more - from his murder!

In fact, it’s not a very difficult boss, I passed it on the second try, the tactics are simple - stay close to your back, dodge during swings and jump away when something red sticks into the ground. For those interested, here is a video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IpkcISmFNNg and you can also see how the boss is affected by fire and lightning.
