How to unlock the Short-Lived achievement in Bloons TD 5 - Definitive Guide

This is a very easy challenge which will net you $2000 monkey money! In this challenge, your towers will disappear after being in play for 10 rounds, however you can easily get around this by selling your towers at the end of the ninth round and then simply replacing them while remaining conservative with your resources :)

I completed this by using a single ninja monkey for the first 20 or so rounds (following the left upgrade path), and then swapping that out for a single super monkey with two monkey apprentices (again, following the left upgrade path while still purchasing the first two upgrades on the right side); you won't need the second monkey apprentice until you're past round 40.

Good luck!

I recommend purchasing the double money perk for $7500 before attempting this. It can be completed without it, but is much more difficult without this upgrade.

Whatever towers you place will disappear after 10 rounds. It is important that you use the fewest towers necessary early on to bank as much cash as possible for later rounds. Make sure you pay attention to what disappears between waves as you will usually need to replace them to keep your damage up.

When there is less than 10 rounds, go all out and build plenty of super monkeys and have a strong monkey village as well.

If you are having trouble following how I go about my upgrades, feel free to watch this guide where I breakdown my preferred tower upgrades.

Thanks and good luck!

My solution involves buying at least 1 new tower every single round. After 10 rounds, you'll have 9 towers left. Add a new tower. After the latest round, the tower from round 2 will disappear while your 10th new tower starts on round 12. Kept out towers for camo, lead, and heart shaped balloons at all times. Upgraded the towers (2/2). Monkey Ace at multiple instances I used the path (3/2) to tackle early M.O.A.B. rounds. Doing your best to regroup your replaced units as they are disappearing. For instance, losing a monkey apprentice in the 5th round. By round 15, you'd want to put down another Monkey Apprentice to keep a relevant rotation on which troop will disappear next. This will help keeping your defenses up after each round of losing a tower and it's upgrades. Engineers helped conjure more ally units. Glue Gunners help aid in defending against layers of balloons. In Monkey Lane, boomerang towers are quite useful in reaching multiple lanes. By the time round 55 hits, Upgrade your 1st tower past (2/2) spend this only round to upgrade your preferred path. When 56 starts, this will be your next tower to focus on during that round. Monkey Village, Super Monkey, Monkey Apprentice/Lighting are my recommendations. Replacing your strong units are they are disappearing & replacing them with their stronger counterparts. Load behold, round 64 you'll have your last remaining 11th~ish unit to help get to your last permanent tower. Achievement pops after the 65th round is completed.

The only thing you should play attention to is the current round so you can sell everything before your towers disappear. I recommend selling everything after the 9th, 18th, 27th, 36th, 45th, 54th and 60th rounds. Also deactivate Auto-Start Rounds, otherwise you might accidentally be too late with selling everything. Get used to only adding towers after you have sold everything, then only use the money in the nine subsequent rounds to upgrade existing towers but only if you need to.

This is a demonstration of how to win this mission without any Monkey Lab upgrades:
