How to unlock the Ace of Aces achievement in Bomber Crew - Definitive Guide

Can by a pain if you do it later but there is an easy, but grindy, way.

As soon as you start the game do NOT choose the first critical mission, it is the fifth. Just keep replaying the other one that is offered. Every fourth mission will be about dropping supplies to a guy floating in the sea
This is where the aces show up. As soon as you see the the marker for the guy just focus on the ace. Do not forget to focus the fire and use, if already unlocked, incendiary fire. Thanks to Broon43 for the additional tipps, to upgrade the turrets with ammo refills and make use of calling in for Spitfires.

If you struggle feel free to ask and please upvote if this helped you.

Not a criticism or anything, these are good tips. I found that by the time I reached the fifth critical mission, I had done 40+ missions and had leveled up enough that taking out the aces wasn’t that tough. My advice is get the 4 barrel turrets with ammo refills, armored engines, and have gunners that have incendiary and/or h.e. Ammo. Also, if you have the call in spitfires support when the ace shows up using that better ammo, the aces go down easier.

Thanks Broon43, great tipps! I will add them to the solution. :)

Is there a way to prevent the Aces from running away? 9,9 times out of 10 they turn tail and gain super speed at around 10% or less health. Spitfires or no, zig-zagging or flying straight toward their spawn, high/low alt. Nothing makes a difference.

It's slightly irritating. Really fuching ever so slightly. >:(

I have done that mission a few times now and no ace has shown up. Do you have to avoid dropping the supplies or something?

Strange thing is I just got this achievement after taking out the last ace, Kaiser von Düsen, after the second-last ace Sonja Schnellmann escaped with low health during that battle. So I guess a Reich ace escaping death counts as a "defeat" for the bad guys? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I only had Kaiser von Dusen and the 3 DLC Ace's to defeat and was doing the above solution on the Campaign missions. I had the "Twins" Aces show up instead of the Kaiser, defeated them and the chievo popped, so maybe it's not exclusive to the Main Campaign Ace's, just have to defeat 8 Ace's?

Fantastic solution! I got past the 2nd main mission, and things were getting more difficult (not DIFFICULT, but more difficult). I would suggest knocking them out before the 2nd mission so they don't make life annoying for later.

Also, as Broon43 mentioned, the grind gives you time to build a tank.

Early on before my turrets were improved and my gunners only skill was Focus, id have trouble with the aces escaping. What I had to do was to linger in the target area as long as possible. Once my navigator could do custom waypoints it got easier to fly back and forth over Cherbourg until the ace finally went down.

The last ace I faced was Sonja, and between the 303x4 in the nose, the focused incendiary ammo, the Spitfires (called as soon as I left England and was feet wet over the channel), she was destroyed before I quite even realized she was there! The two greatest challenges were Bruno (shoots incendiary rounds) and the one that shoots rockets on the countdown (sorry I can’t recall the name now but I’ll correct this post next chance I get).

One other thought... dropping supplies from low altitude takes no bombing skill (for your crew that is.... you have to know what you’re doing) and close enough is good enough. Therefore if your bombardier is also a skilled gunner, just have your navigator or engineer come forward to drop the gear. Keep your best gunners behind their guns.

Enemy Aces will appear on side missions, and they will be quite difficult to kill in the beginning (first encounter) as you won´t have good enough gear / skill. As you progress though it will get easier. I got my first ace on my second encounter with it and from that on it was pretty much one kill every meeting. I´ve focused on upgrading armor (to survive) and turrets (for damage)

If you get a mission and can´t kill the Ace, just keep doing side missions and they will reappear eventually. I recommend doing this early on, as you don´t want to be stuck with an ace on an already dangerous mission. I cleared them all before critical mission 5.

The number of aces is limited. After you kill everyone on the list, they will no longer be in the game. You can shoot them all down on the same mission by replaying it. But it’s better not to rush to shoot them down until you open armor-piercing or, better yet, high-explosive cartridges. And just as soon as the ace appears, immediately call the speedfires, they help a lot.
