How to unlock the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Award achievement in Boom Boom Rocket - Definitive Guide

They changed the ranking system after the patch. What you want to shoot for is a 100% hit ratio and at least a 90% accuracy. That will get an A. Or you could get 98% hit ratio with a 92% accuracy. You get the picture. Also it should be said there are only ten songs in the stock game. If you buy the song pack it comes with a couple easier songs that will count towards the achievement. This will make things go much smoother. Good Luck.

One question. I have got 2 A ranks on the DLC already, if i delete the update and get 8 A on the normal songs will the achievement pop up even though you can play the DLC songs without the update? cos the DLC songs dont show up in the menu without the update. @_@

When I cleared my cache (which deleted the patch) I was able to get A's with a combination of 188% as opposed to 190%. It actually saved me a ton of time. Ended up getting to 9 songs with A's without the patch, then saved an easier song for the 10th song with the patch to get the achievement timestamp.

I got this today without clearing my cache. It's doable if you're determined. The first few ones aren't that hard but the last few I had to play almost 10 times before I got my timing down perfectly. The 10 songs I got A on in the end were: Smooth Operetta, William Tell Overload, Hall of the Mountain Dude, 1812 Overdrive, Valkyries Rising, Tail Light Sonata, Toccata and Funk, Sting of the Bumble Bee, Explode to Joy & Sugar High.

That's 7 from the original game and 3 DLC. These 10 are the easiest in my opinion, I can't see myself getting another A.. Well that would take alot more practice at least. Sting of the Bumblebee and William Tell Overload were the only two songs I got A** on, so those should be the easiest I assume.

Pro Tip: use a wired controller.

Being a musician for many years now, I was baffled that I couldn't get an A grade on any Medium song due to poor accuracy. Even without the patch or by hitting all the buttons simultaneously. After I swap to a wired controller, I was honestly able to get the achievement with little effort playing the original ten songs (without the patch + hitting all buttons :D ).

It's like a magical godsend.

I can confirm that using a wired controller made it a hell of a lot easier

Also, to clarify, the Accuracy and Hit-ratio results must total 190 or higher for an A

I believe there is a hidden value that can round up the score because sometimes I get 189% and still get the A* rank, however it only happened twice.

I figured out that if you press all buttons at the same time in rythm of the music on medium difficulty it won't affect your grade.(this doesn't work on the hard difficulty)

This method will allow you only to concentrate on your timing.

I also recommend like said above to remove your system cache so you can get an A* with a 188% combination instead of a 192% combination.(So you need a 100% hit ratio and at least 88% accuracy)

If you want the time stamp on your chievo just save one easy song so you can do this one online.I recommend saving Sting of the Bumble Bee or Hall of the Moutain Dude since this songs are the easiest ones.

So just try to get as many perfects as you can.Try only to get perfects or Awesome's.If you get too many Ok's retry the song cause at the end you will only get a B rating.

Score doesn't affect the final rating so don't press RT and LT to get the bonus points. It will only make it harder.

It's all about Training and Timing so don't give up and you will achieve this !

[ Songs on wich i got an A* : Smooth Operetta, Rave New World, Hall of the Mountain Dude, 1812 Overdrive, Valkyries Rising, Tail Light Sonata, Carmen Electric, Toccata and Funk, Sting of the Bumble Bee (DLC) and Explode to Joy (DLC) ]

Hope this helps and good luck !

This solution is really fool proof. It's amazing how more people don't have this w/ this guide. I got an A on all 10 original songs using this method...

I cleared system cache and played offline. All my scores and ranks were deleted and it doesnt say I have the DLC? When I sign in and update everything is fine.

Also consider adding a player via Co Pilot or two (accessibility options on Xbox One/ Series) if you cant do it. That way you only have to do half or even a quarter of the button presses it helped me immensely doing this couch coop with a friend and it was also a lot more fun than this wretched game would be otherwise.

The solution of la fouine 54 is good but let me explain how I used his advice into practice. Just clear your cache to have more easily able to grade A, then over the pad I placed a large coin (50 euro cents), to cover all 4 colored buttons, and I stopped it with the duct tape, so it doesn't could move. Then just follow the beat and just enough pressure with your thumb on the middle part of the coin to press the button simultaneously. In 2 hours I completed all 10 original songs. The most difficulty is Game Over Beethoven, shares in fast advice to press the coin with two fingers so as to be more precise and be sure to press all the buttons rapidly.

good advise man, instead of a coin i used a block eraser that covered the buttons and then some just in case it moved a little, did all 10 in under an hour, and for me Carmen Electric took the most attempts by far.

The nooby, I can't be bothered to do it properly way of getting this achievement is to reset your system cache or just not accept the update when you start the game for the first time.

Before the update it was considerably easier to get an "A" on medium as you only need a 100% hit ratio and 85% perfect/awesome hit ratio. I say that the first 6 songs are the easiest and the last 3 songs plus Flight of the Bumblebees from the DLC.

With the combination of all this you will have this done in no time, even though you won't have the time stamp and it is very nooby.

So, for those of you doing this legitimately for the online stamp, satisfaction of doing so, or because you have the arcade compilation disc like me with no update to actually delete, I'll give you a few tips to getting this done. I've got 4/10 songs completed so far, no DLC. Now then, an overview.

You need effectively 100% hit ratio and 90%+ accuracy to get an A rating of some degree. I know you can mix and match to a degree, but chances are you simply aren't going to be good enough to get a 92% accuracy rating even as you're bad enough to be missing enough notes to bring you down to 98% hit ratio, for example.

So down to the difficulty of the actual songs. Songs like 1812 Overdrive or Toccata and Funk might seem intimidating at first, but they're actually the easiest of the lot. The ones with a lot of notes that closely and accurately follow the beat are going to be the easiest to master, since you're pressing buttons to the beat fairly commonly within the song, making the Perfect ratings easier to get nonchalantly.

The more difficult ones are ones like Rave New World and Smooth Operetta, despite being earlier songs, since they have a lot more out-of-beat single notes than other s overall songs, and less notes overall, making every Perfect really count, and every Good or OK hurt that much more. I've also found some difficulty with Game Over Beethoven. Usually you have patterns that are fairly easy to follow, but GOB mixes it up VERY quickly, and has some more difficult to adjust to patterns, like up and down, and left and right (Y,A and X,B respectively, if you're like me and use letter buttons instead of arrows). These are unfamiliar compared to the other songs, which rarely jump across the board, usually going around the pattern of buttons than across. Something like Y B X A X B Y, for example.

I wouldn't recommend doing a song over and over trying to get it. Try a song a few times, and if you don't get it, maybe come back a few hours later after doing something else (not another song, mind you) with a clear mind, and try again. The monotony of doing it over and over again actually seems to make you get worse and worse as time goes on. Going in for a fresh few runs is a lot more effective than just trying over and over fruitlessly, getting sloppier every run as the monotony of the task at hands sets in mentally.

One more thing I should mention, that you should take into advice. Get Sore Thumb Award, and perhaps Suma Cum Laude, AFTER this achievement. Working on those 2 I got so used to the 2 different songs on Hard, that it's actually really difficult for me to get an A on the two songs I used for those 2 achievements on medium. The note placement is different, and you'll find yourself trying to mentally adjust to the Medium-scaled patterns after the Hard-tier ones have been ingrained into your head through practice of them, especially with Sore Thumb Award. I still can't get above 81% accuracy on Rave New World, the song I used. I'm used to just trying to hit the notes on that one, not get a good score, and I'm also just not used to the pattern on medium. Take it from me: save it for later.

That's about all I can offer. Good luck, and happy button mashing.

Another hard'n. Try downloading the songs somewhere and listen to them at any time possible to get a feel for them. Try one song at a time so you can focus on what the song sounds like and then practice to get the notes just right. Remember, leave the multiplier well alone.
