How to unlock the Johnny No Fingers achievement in Boom Boom Rocket - Definitive Guide
Each song has three unique fireworks, one for each difficulty.
You just need to make sure to hit the special "spiraling" firework as it's rising during the song, and do it for all the difficulties for all the songs. You must complete the song to unlock the firework.
This does not include the additional songs available to download. Just the ones that originally came in the game.

Good guide.
If I could add one thing to it it would be to not focus your attention on spotting the spiraling firework, especially on Hard, because just playing the game trying to hit as many fireworks as possible will most likely result in you getting the firework.

Do you have to finish the level after you hit the firework?

GibGirl is correct, but just to help out a bit more, if you're having trouble completing some of the songs, note that it is better to simply skip notes altogether rather than press buttons madly on parts that you can't play properly. The game punishes you for hitting incorrect buttons. If there are any songs you can't pass, this should help you get past them. Be sure not to skip the special firework that gives you the firework for the achievement though.
The different fireworks are shown by a squiggly trail as the firework games up. They appear after a certain amount of notes are hit. There are 30 in total. One on each difficulty for each song.
Here is a tip that will make a lot of these achievements quite doable even for someone that is terrible at rhythm games like me. If you are playing on an xbox series x/s or xbox one x/s under accessibility options in your settings menu of the console turn on Co Pilot. Now grab a friend or if you want to make this super easy 3 invite them to your home (this only works via couch coop) Add 1 to 3 controllers, have each one of you assigned to 1 to 2 arrows/letters and have at it. With just me and my friend who is less terrible at rhythm games than me I managed to knock out this achievement needing no more than 2 attempts per song.
