How to unlock the Phased and Confused achievement in Borderlands 2 - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you need to phaselock 100 enemies. This can be done with the Siren and using just one enemy and luckily SS Bricktop's guide for the 360 version still works. This achievement will unlock naturally if you choose the Siren for your playthrough, but if you picked a different class then this is the quickest way to get it.

This can be done as soon as you unlock the Siren's special which you do once you hit level 5. Play through the intro and select the optional quest called Shielded Favors. This quest grants access to the Souther Shelf - Bay area. Chances are you hit level 5 right by the time you get to this area; if not, turn back and kill some more enemies (not in Southern Shelf- Bay though, we need the Bullymongs over there later on).

Once you have the special unlocked you can go to Souther Shelf - Bay. Don't go too deep into the area, just far enough to agro the Bullymongs that are close to the entrance. Lure them back into to cave and position yourself exactly like I did in this screenshot:

The projectiles thrown by the Bullymongs will be caught by the stalactites and you won't be hit. Just keep using your special on the Bullymongs by pressing cn_LB as soon as the cooldown is complete. Repeat this process 100 times, and Bob's your uncle!

If you are going to vote negative then please tell me why. This is my first guide and English is not my first language.

Thanks for the guide! Just a quick note: In order to unlock the Shielded Favors quest, you'll have to complete the optional quest 'This Town Ain't Big Enough' for Hammerlock first.

If you have obtained this achievement on the Xbox 360 version of Borderlands 2, simply import your Siren using the cloud save function.

Find any enemy and tap LB to phaselock once and the achievement will pop after just one instead of grinding out 100.

Has been tried on multiple accounts and has worked each time.

To get the trophy that's called "Phased and Confused", you have to use Maya's special ability, Phaselock, on at least one-hundred enemies. The good news is that it doesn't have to be used on different enemies, just on one enemy 100 times! Very simple trophy to earn if you follow the instructions below! smile

First off, if you haven't done already or are playing the game for the very first time, chose Maya, the Siren, as your new character and start up a playthrough.

Next, get to level 5 by completing missions and destroying monsters. By the time you gain the mission "Symbosis", you should be at least level 5 or higher. Next, go into your skill tree menu and unlock the special skill, Phaselock.

Once that's done, go to Southern Shelf bay and keep going further until you see a couple of bullymongs. Grab their attention by shooting at them and make sure they are following you. Make your way back to the Ammo Dump and stand next to it. At least two or three bullymongs will stand at a distance and throw rocks at you, hitting the stalactites if you are positioned on higher ground.

Finally, it's really just a matter of hitting cn_L1 on your Playstation 4 controller to Phaselock one of those bullywongs, then waiting for it to be recharged. Rinse, wash, repeat until the trophy is unlocked.

Have fun, good luck, and happy hunting!

To obtain this achievement you'll first need to be playing as Maya and have reached level 5, as Phaselocking is her unique Action Skill. Now that you're playing as her, all you'll need to do is use her Phaselock on 100 enemies. Again, there's a few Skills which may help it go a little quicker, so feel free to level up and spend Skill Points on them.

Below are the Skills that may help;

Motion Skill Tree

Converge: Your Phaselock ability now also pulls nearby enemies towards the original target.

  • Required Level: 15
  • Skill Tier: 3
  • Skill Upgrade: 1/1

Quicken: Increases the cooldown rate of your Phaselock's ability.

  • Required Level: 20
  • Skill Tier: 4
  • Skill Upgrade: 3/5

All you need now is enough enemies or simply one to use the Action Skill on. To start, this may be easier to get playing solo because then you don't have to worry about other people making kills before you get to use it. Remember that the enemy(ies) do not have to die while in the Phaselock.

The translation of the hint is incorrect. You don't need to kill 100 opponents, but just use the skill 100 times.

I'll add a little.
You can use the skill on the same opponent, the trophy will be counted. Approximate time to receive, if you haven’t played as a siren, ~30-45 minutes, when the skill appears.
And I’ll add purely on my own behalf.
You can fill it in Caustic Caverns (acid location), taking into account the fact that there are 2 joysticks and a character (for those who have not played as a siren). We kill the beetles at the very beginning, go a little to the right and make sure that one Crystalix comes out (a mob that has 3 golden legs and when you kill it, gold drops out), use the skill on it 100 times (You can from afar, for example, I was hiding behind a truck and when the skill restored, went out and used it).

Can be used not on an enemy, thereby using the skill almost without delay.

The above addition is incorrect, you need to use it specifically on the enemy. If you had the battle for sanctuary dls added when the game was distributed (so it costs 1k), then by downloading this dls you can make lvl 30 characters from the menu, I don’t know if the passage of the game itself affects it, because I did it after. In order not to worry, you need a livelier mob, so as not to worry, I did it on Donkey Kong, by the way, in the eridium blight location

The "Phaselock" skill can be mastered at level 5 while playing as the Maya character. After use, it lifts and paralyzes the target, has a short duration of action. Destroy creatures caught by phase locking with any powerful weapon. So up to 100 kills.

When you reach level 10, move to the South Shelf location, run to the first bandit base there you will get 6-10 enemies, a little further there is another base there you will get 8-12, then turn around and run in the opposite direction there will be 2 large bases there you will get 15- 20, not far from the bases there are Bolimungi 5-6. And on average there are 40 enemies. Exit the game in the menu, select continue, and everything is the same again. All this takes about 15 minutes.
