How to unlock the Decrypted! achievement in Borderlands 2 - Definitive Guide

Claptrap offers you a mission called "Claptocurrency." Once you enter "The Veiny Shaft" you will be run into some spiderants. In the south-east portion of the exploration area, The Dark Web will spawn.

The achievement popped right after I killed it.

The mission can be found in the Dahl Abandon - thank you Advena

This achievement is missable if you mine the last crystal before killing the Dark Web - Thank you alpaca777

Multiple people are saying that the achievement is not popping until they reload their profiles to their Xbox.

Ok I’m lost I killed the dark web at least 10 times now and no achievement I even started a new character cause I thought maybe it was broken for imported characters but no matter what I do it’s not popping for me you got any ideas cause I got non

I was having the same issue. I just signed out and back in and it popped. If that doesn’t work though, try uninstalling and reinstalling your profile. Sometimes works when achievements seem stuck.

Thanks inToX Shredz I deleted my account and redownloaded and it popped when it was showing the company logos but yeah that’s the first time I ever had something like that happen to me thanks again

This is missable!!! Make sure you wait for Dark Web Spider to spawn before you mine your last crystal material in the mine. If you mine the last crystal, he will not spawn and you will not be able to spawn him. Very important detail not mentioned in either of 2 solutions.

Same issue I couldn't get the achievement to pop but when I loaded my achievement list through my profile at the dashboard it popped

Had the same issue, and it popped as soon as I booted the game two days later, LOL.

I went into see all my achievements and it popped. Didn’t pop in game.

Sometimes the achievement can unlock if you have the Xbox app for iOS or android

If anyone doesn't want to delete their profile and then re-add it there is a quick(and oh so much easier) way. Click the Xbox button on your controller, navigate all the way left to your profile picture, open that and open "My profile". RB over to Gaming and select Borderlands 2 and it should pop as soon as the list show up.

This has been working on all the DLC achievements.

Gearbox seem to have fixed this now, it shouldn't need any tricks with the profile but does have to be redone

I know I am late with this but I attempted this activity and the followed the steps the achievement did not unlock. Should I contact Xbox support?

What I did was I defeated dark web waited a min nothing popped I immediately quit the game loaded back in it took me before I killed it then I went killed it again and achievement popped right away

I had trouble unlocking it to,but while in game I checked the achievement tab, then clicked on it, and as it was opening the achievement app it unlocked.

So might try that instead of deleting your profile and may even quit game load another game, quit and load of BL2, that's how Chocolate Chip popped for me.

or anyone not getting the achievement or any of them in the new DLC. Go to settings on your XBOX ONE, remove account, add it again, let it download your information again, , load Borderlands 2, instant achievement pop, I've had to do this for almost every achievement.

Pretty simple achievement.
1 get to story mission "Cost Of Progress"
2 instead of going to the mine talk to Claptrap and pick up the items
3 go into mine activate drill
4 go to the lower right area of "The Veiny Shaft"
5 Kill Dark Web
6 Profit in a shiny new achievement

I was way over-leveled for this fight, due to playing through again after missing an achievement! - be careful during the the moon shot story mission:

This trophy is unlocked on Claptrap's quest "Claptocurrency" which is acquired in the Dahl Abandon. Follow the quest into "The Veiny Shaft" and once you have the objective to "mine BECHO wafers," the Dark Web will spawn by a cluster of them in the south east of the map. Simply kill it and the trophy will unlock and you don't need to finish the quest if you don't want to.

You will unlock this achievement during the side mission "Claptocurrency" that you can acquire from Claptrap in the 'Dahl Abandon.'.

You will be tasked with mining BECHO Wafers for Claptrap. While here, you will be attacked by Spiderants. In the South-East part of the target area where you will need to go to mine some BECHO Wafers you will be attacked by a giant Spiderant called 'The Dark Web.' Simply kill this enemy and the achievement will unlock.

After firing from the Hypereon, the Dahl Abandon location will open and near its entrance there will be a quest from Claptrap. We take it and go to the location. We need to clear the cave with a drill. We enter after clearing. Transparent spiders will attack us. In one of these attacks, one large spider will appear. Do not miss. He will stand out greatly from others. We kill him and get the trophy.

The Dark Web is a huge spider, an additional goal of the side quest Claptocurrency , which is given by Claptrap who decides to get involved in cryptocurrency. The spider is in the mine where you need to farm crystals. Video to help .
