This mission is part of the main story. It is really late into the game, chapter 22 of 23. You can check what chapter you are on by returning to the main menu. It displays in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Simply finishing this story mission should unlock the achievement. Sadly, my first time playing through the story this achievement didn't unlock, but all other story based achievements did.

Story Related, Can't Be Missed
This trophy will pop after completing the mission "In the Shadow of Starlight", once you have watched the cutscene that appears after defeating all the COV forces which are attacking
Boss details:
General Traunt - Fought during the mission "Footsteps of Giants":
General Traunt has the following attacks:
Homing Elemental Balls
Maliwan Soldier Spawn
Shock Pillars
This fight is virtually identical to the Captain Traunt battle from earlier on in the game so use the same tactics again i.e. stay close to him and empty a non-elemental Shotgun into the generator on his back whilst dodging his Elemental attacks. The main difference between this fight and the one against Captain Traunt, is that General Traunt can summon Shock Pillars that deal massive damage if not destroyed. If you enter Fight For Your Life, try and get a Second Wind off one of the many Maliwan Soldiers that Traunt summons periodically throughout the fight.
