How to unlock the Careful, He Bites achievement in Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition - Definitive Guide
Once you reach level 5, you will unlock the action skill. Find some low-level enemies outside of Fyrestone (Skags are perfect), take down the health of a few of them by shooting until they only have a small amount of HP, and then press to trigger the skill.
Rinse and repeat until you've killed 15 enemies and then the trophy will unlock.
You will need to be level 5 before you can unlock any character's action skill.
The Hunter's action skill has you send your bird companion, Bloodwing, out to attack enemies. You can invest in certain skills to improve the damage and usefulness of the action skill in the Rogue skill tree with skills such as 'Swift Strike' that improves the damage and speed and 'Bird of Prey' that increases the amount of targets that Bloodwing can attack before returning.
This achievement can be attempted as soon as you reach level 5 however and should be done on the weaker early game enemies to unlock it as soon as possible.
You will gain access to your action skill when you level up to level 5 and to use it, press . The Hunter's action skill is his pet bird "Bloodwing". As with "Truly Outrageous" you will want to weaken an enemy first then activate your action skill. Early on in the game Bloodwing isn't very powerful so this trophy will take a little while to get.
Notes:
- There is a really annoying A.I/pathfinding glitch with Bloodwing where she will not lock onto an enemy, nor return to you properly and will just fly in loops or zigzag patterns until the timer runs out. Unfortunately there's no fix for this glitch, just try and only use her in wide open spaces.
- Borderlands 2 establishes that Bloodwing is actually a Girl so the title of this trophy is wrong.
