How to unlock the Small Tournament achievement in Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition - Definitive Guide
You need to fight 5 rounds with 5 waves of enemies in 3 places.
The waves consist of:
Starter Wave (basic enemies with Skags/Bandits/Psychos)
Gun-Wave: Bandits with Weapons
Horde-Wave: Psychos
Badass-Wave: (Not only!) Badass-Variants of Enemies like Alpha Skags or Guardians
Boss-Wave: Any boss
Beware, in some cases enemies are kind of hidden, when you hear no shooting sounds, then they might be stuck anywhere. Just shoot some times to get their attention.
In every case, the enemies won't make any trouble to you, when you load the game with a low-leveled character and run with your main account. I recommend a lv 35 character for this. There will be only 1-2 modifications that makes it a bit annoying, but still it is easy for you to get to the end.
Pedle Zelnip reports: "if your main is an imported character from the 360 version who already had this achievement, then after completing the 3 rounds you'll find your low-leveled char gets the achievement but your main doesn't. Would recommend doing this with a character that's never unlocked the achievement."
See in the comments.
Enemies in the arenas scale to the host's level, so the easiest way to complete the three arenas is to have the person hosting the game have a low-level character and have some friends with level 50+ characters join.
Each tournament consists of five rounds, which each contain five waves.
This achievement is unlocked for completing the lesser challenges in all three coliseums. This will be the first and only mission available to you called 'Prove Yourself', in the DLC after traveling to 'The Underdome'. This requires that you survive five rounds of five waves each in each of the three arenas. Doing this will take around an hour to an hour and a half for all three.
I would highly recommend that you take advantage of the game's level scaling by using a second account to achieve this as if you play it on your own game save, the enemies will be your level regardless of the playthrough you are on and as such can be quite difficult. More importantly, however is that if you die you have to start from the very beginning and these challenges are extremely tedious.
See the description for "Big Tournament" for details on how to manipulate the games level scaling.
Story related, can't be missed.
The first three challenges are given to you when you use the Underdome Bounty Board. The coliseums have big numbered signs "1", "2" and "3" above them, in addition to the waypoints for the mission.
Each of the Small coliseum challenges have five rounds, with five waves each (total of 25 waves per coliseum, total of 75 waves for this trophy).
When you complete these three coliseums and hand in the mission, you will get this trophy and a bonus skill point for all characters that completed it (you can get one skill point per playthrough so a level 50 character will have 52 skill points if done on both playthroughs).
See Big Tournament for information on wave rules and loot.
