How to unlock the Steele-Trap achievement in Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition - Definitive Guide

If you're like me and you think this glitched on you... it probably didn't.

There's a second Steele-trap fight. This pops after that one.

Hope this helps!

If, like me, you came here looking for answers as to why the achievement did NOT pop after you beat them for the second time, I will tell you what worked for me in hopes it will help somebody.

My theory is that it has to do with an imported character from the backwards compatible version of the game that has already completed these achievements. I was logged in with said character and was messing around, and then logged back over to my character from this play through to complete that last bit and finish up this DLC. I beat the first two bosses before I realized that achievements that were supposed to be popping were not.

I quit out of the game directly after killing the second boss, and did a hard reset on my console (manually hold the power button on your Xbox for 5 to 10 seconds until it shuts off. Wait 30 seconds until it's fully shut down, unplug it, plug it back in, and then restart your console). Loading back into the game I just had to run through and redo it, but this time upon killing the bosses, the achievements popped.

If you were as mortified as me in this situation, I hope this helped you too.

Hmm, I haven't played with my imported character in quite some time, and Knoxx & Ned both popped for me, but Steele hasn't after beating her the 2nd time.

Didn't play with imported character, beat Steele on second encounter and nothing.
Completed the rest of the mission, beating the final boss. Still nothing.
Exited, quit the game, full console restart and loaded up the game again.
Nothing.
Checked achievement list and it's unlocked, showing up after the final boss achievement, but no notification.

This trophy will pop after the second time you beat Commandant Steele-trap. You'll face them for the second time as you make your way to the Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap in the mission during the quest Operation Trap Claptrap, Phase Four: Reboot

Commandant Steele-Trap will also have to be beaten twice in order to obtain this trophy. Her defence is nowhere near as high as the other two, but she has a lot of agility to make up for this, and will jump around and dodge a lot of your shots. As a result, you're going to have to stay on the move a lot as well, and not stay in one place. I found that the best strategy for taking down Steele is to use a scoped weapon as these are a lot more accurate and thus have a greater chance of hitting her. Wait for her to charge towards you and then fire at her – rinse and repeat. A corrosive weapon will decimate Steele as she is particularly weak against this element - if you have a weapon with this property, then corrosion is the way to go.

If you are a Soldier, this battle is much easier. Deploy your turret and Steele will automatically try to attack it. As a result, she'll be in one place so you can fire at her with relative ease.
