How to unlock the That Helped, Right? achievement in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel - Definitive Guide

In contrast to the other heroes you need to level your fragtrap to Level 25 to get this hero specific Achievement called “That Helped, Right?”

There are 15 total modes that Claptrap can use in Vault Hunter.EXE
– Funzerker
– Shhhhh… Trap
– Miniontrap
– Blightbot
– Mechromagician
– Meat Unicycle
– Rubber Ducky
– Med Bot (only in local/online coop, if your partner is below 100hp or dead)
– Nonsensical Sacrifice (only in local/online coop, if your partner(s) are dead)
– Torgue Fiesta (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Pirate Ship Mode (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Clap-in-the-Box (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– Gun Wizard (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– One Shot Wonder (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)
– Laser Inferno (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)

Took me about five minutes in Splitscreen to get Med Bot & Nonsensical Sacrifice, i recommend that you reset your skills so that you don’t get the other six Modes from the Skilltree

To reset your Skill Points just use the “New-You” Station in Concordia

i focused on each skill tree by themselves. 1. first i did just a skill points in the CENTER TOP.. with no skill points in the trees themselves. that got me both medical actions right away. then i did just the Right, reset, the Center, reset then LEFT. DONT FORGET "you must keep 1 skill point" in the Center top.. ALWAYS LEAVE THAT THERE.. you may want to add 5 to center Right to make your actions reset faster.. hope this helps.. if you do the trees seperate you increase the likelyhood of getting those actions to Acitvivate.. I did all the actions in Sanctuary by the skill tree reset except for the medical ones.. no need to be in combat or kill an enemy.

I've activated the ability over 50 times and still haven't gotten Funzerker, Mechro, or Rubber Ducky. Is there a trick to getting these three? Or does this piece of shit game just hate me.

I wonder if those 'hexes' that game shows you work for sure... but for me it was like that: Funzerker - get smg/rifle and shoot continuously, preferably around badass and game will give it to you. Mechro - this piece of shit I get alll the time so no comment, Rubber Ducyky - unequip your shield that way youll always get 'shield low' and (I think) game will prefer this skill over other. Throwing grenades at your feet also works.

I dont think the little hexagons correlate to anything other than the current conditions. I think the EXE you get is random regardless. Just wanted to say hang in there Forbes medbot and nonsensical - took me about 50 tries to get both.

If anyone struggling having the Nonsensical Sacrifice and the Med Bot skills, here's what i did. Plug in a second controller and while in game, travel to Serenity's Waste. Find a lava pool nearby and stand right into it. When both of your characters go down, you have a much higher chance to get Nonsensical Sacrifice. For the Med Bot you need to lower both characters health until you can see the warning sign next to their health bar. I got the skill for the third try, really not that hard.

FWIW, the easiest way for me to get nonsensical sacrifice and med bot was to:

1) Reset all skill points and put 1 into the action skill
2) Sign into another account and play the game with two accounts versus one as a guest.
3) Go to Titan Robot Production Plant
4) Remove all gear from the fragrtrap
5) Lure enemies through the door to hurt the characters (or down one for nonsensical)
6) Repeat

I tried for over 6 hours trying to spawn Nonsensical Sacrifice using the lava pool method and another hour trying to get it through enemy damage in Triton's Flats. Then I tried the grenade method. Within 30 min of the other player going down by their own grenades it spawned. The achievement didn't pop for me however until I activated my skill again

Finally got Nonsensical Sacrifice after lots of trying; ended up getting it in Triton Flats. The only things I think I can add to existing suggestions is that I had to be far away from my partner (so much so that it would be unlikely/impossible to revive them normally) and I had to have no enemies near me. To do that, I had my Claptrap in the room connecting Concordia to Triton Flats and my co-op partner was in the room adjacent to Triton Flats’ Fast-Travel station. Otherwise, I followed other suggestions of my partner carrying a gun, having no healing items equipped (be cautious of your grenade mod,) and being sure my character was wearing a shield.

i got them all really easy. the 2 coop ones i just went to triton flats, attacked the 3 flying things on the left and when my lvl 1 partner was down and i was low, i activated the skill and got Nonsensical Sacrifice right away. then i did it again and got the medbot one. i think it's important to actually target your partner so the game interprets you want to heal.

If you have previously unlocked this with a saved character on your Xbox 360, you can get this after transferring the character through the Cloud Save system in-game and then performing a single use of the action skill.

For reference, the Modes are

1. Clap-in-a-Box
2. Gun Wizard
3. Torgue Fiesta
4. Pirate Ship Mode
5. One Shot Wonder
6. Laser Inferno
7. Minion Trap
8. Meat Unicycle
9. Funzerker
10. Mechromagician
11. Shhhh... Trap!
12. Blight Bot
13. Rubber Ducky
*14. Med Bot
*15. Nonsensical Sacrifice

* Co-op only
If yoiu're having trouble with Medbot, I got it in split screen co-op. Both characters were alive but below 100 HP. I put no skill points anywhere except the very first node in the tree. I hope this helps.

I can't confirm if recent patches made getting this easier, but that's how I got it. All the others were easy to get, just pay attention to how your skill points are allocated.

Makes no sense, but switching to 1 skill point seemed to help for med bot. But I also had critical low health on both characters and almost full shield on claptrap at the time.

Just a tip here on MedBot and Nonsensical Sacrifice: for me it seemed downing yourself with grenades in Concordia is the way to go, I was trying other places for hours and then tried it in Concordia and got a “fight for your life” trait on the .EXE menu that I wasn’t getting before. I got Medbot 3 times and Nonsenical Sacrifice on the fourth attempt.

I read all the other solutions and they were not enough to get the achievement. Why? Because they were not very specific about the skill tree thing.

Basically you have to reach Level 26 to be able to put skill point in each of the skill trees. From left to right:

- Boomtrap
- I Love You Guys!
- Fragmented Fragtrap

The idea is to get faster to that level using another account with a character with high level, better with a True Vault Hunter mode to speed up things. So basically you will do everything on the upper character and let claptrap below just level up.

When you reach the designated level, assign everything on the first skill tree, Boomtrap. Play with the character a while. You will get some random and some specific for the skill tree. When you think is enough or see many ones repeated go to Concordia and use the Re-spec machine to reset the skill points and then put all on the 2nd tree, "I Love You Guys!". Play a little while and then redo the same and choose the final tree, "Fragmented Fragtrap". You will probably get the achievement on the 2nd activation for that 3rd tree.

Have to say that as crazy the character is, most specials with Claptrap are random, so you cannot predict them for sure, however, some of them are most probably like the Medbot that heals the other character at half of the shield / life bar, or Nonsensical Sacrifice, that swaps the dead if the partner is down and about to be killed (second wind status).

Below are the modes for reference:

There are 15 total modes that Claptrap can use in Vault Hunter.EXE
– Funzerker
– Shhhhh… Trap
– Miniontrap
– Blightbot
– Mechromagician
– Meat Unicycle
– Rubber Ducky
– Med Bot (only in local/online coop, if your partner is below 100hp or dead)
– Nonsensical Sacrifice (only in local/online coop, if your partner(s) are dead)
– Torgue Fiesta (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Pirate Ship Mode (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Clap-in-the-Box (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– Gun Wizard (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– One Shot Wonder (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)
– Laser Inferno (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)

Another good spot for Medbot is Serenity's Waste. Just hang out in the lava until you are both down enough and keep trying. No need to try to find enemies as the lava pit will bring you down fast enough. Hope this helps. Tried for a few hours until I thought of this place. Got it right away.

For Nonsensical sacrifice, I tried for hours to no avail in serenitys waste. For whatever reason it doesnt seem to be want to activate in this region. I did try again in Triton Flats, and would get the FFYL hexagon to appear but it would not give me Nonsensical sacrifice. But did give me medbot.
I found that Concordia was the place for me, and many, many others across the interenet was the place to get NS. I had a guest account run into the electric fence on the top floor (before the quest to turn it off) and stood by the re-spec machine and used the action skill and on the second attempt it worked.
I should add that during the whole process I just had 1 skill point put into the action skill and no more

I may also add that if you are just trying to get the two co-op ones to appear, you need to use the action skill one more time and it should pop the achievement

– Torgue Fiesta (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Pirate Ship Mode (Boomtrap Skilltree)
– Clap-in-the-Box (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– Gun Wizard (I Love You Guys! Skilltree)
– One Shot Wonder (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)
– Laser Inferno (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree)

Medbot and Nonsensical Sacrifice seem to be the hardest to get. I had no luck with these guides until I looked around so posting my suggestions for both below:

First, reset all skills for claptrap and invest 5 in Manical Laughter and 5 in Through Thick and Thin (for action skill cooldown).

Now, for Medbot go to Serenity's Waste. With your main character (claptrap), run out to the right and kill all the enemies until they stop spawning then run down to the lava lake. Unequip all shields and healing items for both characters Have your other character run over and let them sufficate/get hurt until they have a red triangle next to their health. Do the same for your main character then trigger your action skill. This should get Medbot to activate, try a few times if you don't get it first shot. Another note, I got Rubber Ducky here a bunch of times doing the same thing except my claptrap's health didn't have the red triangle next to it. A heads up to anyone having trouble with that one.

For Nonsensical Sacrifice, you need your main character to have a shield and your secondary to have a gun. Again, unequip all healing items. Go to Tycho's Ribs. Have your main character stay in the fast travel room and the second character run into the next room with the enemies. Once they go down and bring their gun up, do your action skill. I got this after a few tries. Credit to iTz Canada Ehh in a comment on the 360 guide for this one.

All the other ones popped naturally for me through the game, I did reset my skill tree while running through holodome (normal mode level 48) to get the skills that need to be unlocked and got them all in one round. I'd try that if you're having problems getting any of them to unlock.

If you don't get it to unlock after this, don't panic! I had to do my action skill once more to get it to pop.

Hope this helps!

Personal Note: I had an incredibly hard time getting the Med Bot and Nonsensical Sacrifice to activate. It took me several hours of Co-Op play to eventually get it to happen. I was almost at the point of researching any known glitches regarding it. Just be patient and eventually you will get it. It helps if you and your teamates are damaged or someone is in Fight for your life

All credit goes to AbsolutioN IX on Trueachievements for writing this

You can get this starting at level 25 on Claptrap. There are 15 total modes that Claptrap can use in Vault Hunter.EXE. The game analyzes your stats and picks a mode when you press LB, but in my opinion, most of them are random.

Claptrap has 9 available from the start, which are:

-Funzerker (Dual wield weapons)
-Shhhhh... Trap (Turn invisible)
-Miniontrap (Throw down turret)
-Blightbot (Send out a flying claptrap with fire/corrosive damage)
-Mechromagician (send out flying Punkbot, which distracts and melees)
-Meat Unicycle (Melee weapon with sawblade)
-Rubber Ducky (reflect bullets and bounce)
-Med Bot (shoot laser at teammates to heal them)
-Nonsensical Sacrifice (revives teammates that are currently down at the cost of your own life)

NOTE: Med Bot and Nonsensical Sacrifice are more likely to show up if you have teammates injured or down. (Downed teammates seem to be a requirement for the latter)

6 abilities can be unlocked by putting points into Claptrap's skill trees. There are two abilities in each tree:

Boomtrap: (Left Tree)
-Torgue Fiesta (Rapidly throws out grenades) Put a point into I Am Rubber, You Are Glue.
-Pirate Ship Mode (Cannons appear in four corners of your screen and fire) Put a point into Livin' Near the Edge.

I Love You Guys!: (Middle Tree)
-Clap-in-the-Box (Claptrap holds a bomb that detonates) Put a point into Kick Him While He's Down.
-Gun Wizard (greatly increases fire rate and reload speed for team) Put a point into You're.. GOING TO LOVE ME!!

Fragmented Fragtrap: (Right Tree)
-One Shot Wonder (gun magazine will empty with one shot) Put a point into Tripleclocked
-Laser Inferno (disco ball will fire lasers at enemies) Put a point into Rainbow Coolant.

While attempting this, you can re-spec your points to switch from skill tree to skill tree. You can do this at the Quick Change station just outside the bar in Concordia.

I had a very easy time getting Nonsensical Sacrifice and Medbot by using two controllers, and using grenades in Concordia to drop health. NS happened the very first time Player 2 was down, Medbot took maybe 5 attempts with both characters being low on health. Not hard at all.

The only place I got nonsensical sacrifice to work was in Concordia, tried in outlands canyon(in the ice pool in front of the fast travel), Serenity's waste, triton flats, nothing worked, saw lots of people saying they got it done in Concordia, went there, bought grenade to my second controller, threw all 3 to kill him and boom, first try I got it to unlock, hope this helps others 👍

To get the "That Helped, Right?" achievement, there are a few things that can help.

First, there are two Action Packages that REQUIRE Co-op (Sorry Solo players, like myself), which can be a bit extra frustrating.
Second, understand that due to Claptrap's glitchy programming, this skill may occasionally select an Action Package not relating to the current situation (and multiple Action Packages can share criteria).
So, what you get is ALWAYS basically random, though there are ways to try to help influence it, as it is based on "analyzing the environment" to choose the best ability... which can then just get replaced with any at random. You know, it IS Claptrap.
Fortunately, you can specifically respec after triggering an Action Package unlcocked from the Skill Tree, thus removing it from the list of possibilities for a wasted repeat.

There are 15 possible Action Packages, 6 of which are tied to specific Skills in your Skill Tree. To unlock all of them, you need to be a minimum of Level 25+.
I would recommend keeping track of each Action Package as it happens, as well as temporarily unlearning any tied to a Skill when they trigger.
Also, probably get the two Co-op ones done ASAP, then play solo for the rest to lock those two out of the pool of Action Packages. Make sure you have NO Skills (other than Action Skill, of course) unlocked!
-Some claim that Concordia is the prime spot to get these two done,

Now, on to the specifics:

(Default, available with the Action Skill)
Funzerker
Shhhhh… Trap
Miniontrap
Blightbot
Mechromagician
Meat Unicycle
Rubber Ducky
Med Bot (Co-op REQUIRED) - Can trigger if your partner(s) is below 100hp or dead
Nonsensical Sacrifice (Co-op REQUIRED) - Can trigger if your partner(s) are dead

(Skill Tree unlocks)
Torgue Fiesta (Boomtrap Skilltree Tier 4, min. Lv. 15)
Pirate Ship Mode (Boomtrap Skilltree Tier 6, min. Lv. 25)
Clap-in-the-Box (I Love You Guys! Skilltree Tier 2, min. Lv. 9)
Gun Wizard (I Love You Guys! Skilltree Tier 3, min. Lv. 14)
One Shot Wonder (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree Tier 3, min. Lv. 14)
Laser Inferno (Fragmented Fragtrap Skilltree Tier 6, min. Lv. 25)

And here are the 16 variables (When VaultHunter.exe is activated, several are chosen, then an Action Package activates):
Ammo Low
Enemies Present / Melee Enemy / Shot Enemy / Badass Present / Boss Present
Buddies! / Lonely Mode
Used Grenade
Health Full / Health Low / Fight For Your Life
Shield Full / Shield Low / Shield Empty
Subroutine Loaded

Sadly, I don't know what each Package is tied to for triggering it, but there is some work towards that on the talk page for the skill on the wiki: https://borderlands.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:VaultHunter.EXE
(The sole exception is that the co-op ones will have the Buddies! trigger.)

Further help: Thanks to "SpectatorX" and their post I found (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=67224...), here is a bit of control you can do for Rubber Ducky and (I assume at the moment) Med Bot and Nonsensical Sacrifice.
Step 1: Go to Concordia.
Step 2: Unequip EVERYTHING, Respec, spend a single point to unlock VaultHunter.exe
Step 3: Make sure yourself/ally(ies) are injured/FFYL (self-damage via Grenade at your feet works well)
Step 4: Stand at an edge without rails, facing outwards (to get rid of minions quickly), and activate VaultHunter.exe
(Myself, I FINALLY got Rubber Ducky on my second try this way!)

Good luck!

Vault Hunter.EXE is the Claptraps action skill. You unlock this as with all characters at level three and can immediately begin using it. How it works is that when you activate it, the game will evaluate the current battlefield conditions and assign an appropriate temporary battlefield 'care package', although this is mostly a random outcome. You will need to be level 25 with the Claptrap to have enough skill points to unlock the .EXE modes through the skill trees. After getting to level 25 you can unlock and trigger the modes in one of the skill trees, then re-spec your character and do the next skill tree, then again for your third and final time.

There are nine default modes that are available from the beginning, two of which require that you are playing in Co-Op and are marked as such below;

  1. Meat Unicycle
  2. Miniontap
  3. Funzerker
  4. Blightbot
  5. Mechromagician
  6. Medbot - Requires Co-Op play
  7. Rubber Ducky
  8. Shhhhhhhhh... trap
  9. Nonsensical Sacrifice - Requires Co-Op play

And a further six that you must invest in through the skill trees as well as the required skill tree;

  1. One Shot Wonder - Fragmented Fragtrap - Tripleclocked
  2. Laser Inferno - Fragmented Fragtrap - Rainbow Coolant
  3. Clap-in-the-box - I Love You Guys! - Kick Him While He's Down
  4. Gun Wizard - I Love You Guys! - You're... GOING TO LOVE ME!!
  5. Torgue Fiesta - Boomtrap - I Am Rubber. You Are Glue
  6. Pirate Ship Mode - Boomtrap - Livin' Near the Edge

Experience all of these with the Claptrap and the achievement is yours.

First, it’s better to spend one point and make basic mods, since additional ones have priority when randomized.

Here https://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/T...age_conditions there is a table with the probabilities of getting a particular ability.

It helped a lot because I couldn’t beat RubberDucky for 5 hours.

To trigger a Senseless sacrifice, you need the following:
-Low shield level
-Low health
- fight for life (for an ally)
Got it the first time

That's right. Med bot appeared when 2 players had low health. The shields were full. There was no enemy, as I did in Concordia

Med bot is easy to do in a duel when both have little health, non sen only if your partner blows himself up with a grenade

The video clearly shows the necessary skills. And what to upgrade to open them.

Maybe it will help someone, like Med bot and Senseless Sacrifice did
Senseless Sacrifice - a new character is created from the second gamepad (split screen), the main one is given some money through trade, we buy 3 grenades in Concordia, throw them at ourselves, and die. During his struggle for life, the skill is used with a klaptrap. The main idea is to do it in Concordia.
Med bot - I suffered for a very long time, then I went to triton flats. then the second 2 player threw grenades under himself so that the lives began to blink, he ran out of the base where the teleport was with a klaptrap and immediately to the left. there are 2 flying crap, I waited until the lives were removed so that they could blink too, and turned on the skill. It worked the first time.

There is a much easier option to perform Med Bot and Nonsensical Sacrifice with a second joystick. Create a new character, enter the game as the main one, then a new one (I did it at the first location - Serenity's Waste at the teleport station), create a duel between them (you can level up The Duelist at the same time) Win duels in the in-game achievements Miscellaneous (Miscellaneous)). After the duel starts (crossed pistols will appear), you need to shoot a new character (he will drop to one knee) and press L1 on the joystick. The first time I got a Med Bot (to treat a new character with a laser), the second time - a Gun Wizard (since in the second branch You're... Going to love me!!) and after the third duel received Nonsensical Sacrifice (with a new character you can restore the main character’s health, because after receiving Nonsensical Sacrifice, the main character goes into the fight for life).

I liked THIS link more.
But in general, to gain access to all mods you need level 25, all non-co-op mods are obtained by simply spamming skills. There are two co-op mods - Senseless Sacrifice and Medbot. The first is easily obtained by activating the skill when one of the partners is in the mode of fighting for life. The second skill is the most problematic, the most random and the most disgusting. I got it on the hundredth attempt with empty shields and low health of nearby enemies.

Medbot is activated as follows:
-It is necessary to have a guide (online or a second joy to help)
- Full shields for the character and ally/partner
-Low health for the character and ally/partner

I did it in the very first location, first removed the shield from the main character, stood on the lava until the flashing exclamation mark (opposite health), turned on the shield. Everything is ready with the character.
The second player was initially connected as a second joey, so he has lvl 1-5, he previously bought the lowest-grade shield, but did not activate it -> then either his opponents took off his health, or he also stood on the lava until a flashing exclamation mark appeared -> activated the shield. The second character is ready.
Next, the main character, being next to his partner, activated the skill. And that’s it, everything worked out immediately on the first try.
