How to unlock the The Bigger They Are achievement in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel - Definitive Guide

After completing the game, return to Concorndia and check the job board between Moxxi's and the Meriff's place. One of the available missions will be to defeat a raid boss--The invincible Empyrean Sentinel. Return to where you found the final boss. You will need 20 moonstones to enter.

The Invincible Empyrean Sentinel has the same modes and attacks as the final boss. He is much tougher, but unlike other raid bosses, he is stuck at level 28. I easily solo-ed him at level 35 with weapons from the claptrap DLC. If you don't have great weapons, you might want to wait for level 40.

You don't need to wait to level 35-40 I did it with a level 25 Enforcer it took around 25-30min (i know...shock)

when I finished I was a level 27 i ranked up like 1 1/2 over the fight. Oh and I had basic weapons i used "Miss Moxxi's Vibra-Pulse" it drops shields like a boss lol and a "gentleman's Corinthian 475 Dmg, shield dropper" sniper that's it everything else was rocket launcher and a pistol sucked so I ran around for ammo. And didn't stop jumping and shooting.

solo was doing it with another random player (he was a 24 claptrap ) he left boss felt like a 90% decrease in difficulty lol

Has anyone played in co op and once defeated both bosses it never registered? For either one of us. None of the boxes had check marks, though I didn't notice if it was checking them off as we progressed. Second time this happened. Will try solo but very aggravating.

I've been farming this guy with my Nisha that I imported from the 360 for a while with no achievement unlock. Is this only obtainable with characters who have never killed him before or do I have a major glitch?

Did the bugs for this achievement get fixed? I missed this and Moon Mission Meister since this was my final side mission and I did it in online co-op with someone else as the host.

After you have completed the story you can fast travel back to Concordia and there will be a new side mission available, 'The Bestest Story Ever Told.' You will need to travel back to Eleseer where you defeated the final boss to find this new Invincible version of the boss in it's place that you then need to defeat. Good luck and if you need people to help you with this, consult the achievement boosting thread found Here. Note that you need to defeat this boss, completing the side mission to also unlock the "Moon Mission Meister" achievement.

This is easiest done on your first 'Normal' playthrough as the boss will have a lot less health, and unlike previous Borderlands games, the boss is not level 52 on the normal playthrough, it is scaled to be around the level that you are when the mission becomes available, for me it was level 28. If you are struggling with it, you can always begin your TVHM playthrough and level up a bit then return when you are a higher level than it and you'll destroy it with ease.

Once you have defeated the Invincible Empyrean Sentinel this achievement is deservedly yours.

NOTE: The boss will be level 28 on Normal Mode no matter what. So, if you are having trouble with him, try progressing in your second playthrough so you are a higher level with higher level gear and then returning to Normal Mode to defeat the boss with out any trouble.

The achievement will unlock after killing the boss on either playthrough.

Obtained after completing the side quest " The bestest story ever told ", which can be picked up in Concordia after finishing the storyline. To access the boss you need 16 moonstones. The boss itself is no different from the plot boss.

The boss is still different from the story boss, he is more tenacious and in the second phase of the battle he electrifies the entire battlefield when his hands touch the ground. In this battle, a shield with immunity to electricity or Anshin shields will not hurt; they increase the player’s health and are able to adapt to elemental damage.
