How to unlock the Lunar Looter achievement in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Definitive Guide

Step One: Farm Moonstones. I did this at Serenity’s Waste, farming Iwajira. With a ~ Level 30 Hero you need about four Minutes per run and you get ~ 40 Moonstones per Run. If your done just Quit the Game and Continue and do this till you have 400 Moonstones (40x per Moonstone Chest).

Step Two: Open Moonstone Chests. I know of six Moonstone Chest Locations:

– Crisis Scar
– Pity’s Fall
– Titan Robot Embarkation
– Eye of Helios
– Vorago Solitude
– Moon Core

but you can open one Chest again and again. The fastest Way is to run trough the Titan Robot Production Plant again and again, it will only take about two minutes per run. If you opened one Chests quit the Game and Continue till the Achievement pops.

FWIW, I wouldn't even wait until you have 400 moonstones - Felicity drops a bunch of moonstones and even the (non-moonstone) chests in the final room have them with some regularity.

Actually what "The Globalizer" mention is true, and better than the solution. Going alone with the Titan Robot Production Plant is far better option. You can finish it in less than 5 minutes and get about 25-30 moonstones per run, and a chest on the final part on the left side after Felicity Constructor

04/feb/2022 Iwajira seems to only drop around 20. considering the time it takes to get there, kill him and then run around a huge area looting... quite a waste of time... Felicity is much better IMO

Something i have noticed while playing, and im unsure if it's just me, but frequently when i kill torks they drop moonstone ( i am also using that shotgun that pickle gives you for completing one of his quests if that plays any factor in it). Im not even half way through the game and haven't farmed at all and have 300 moonstone. You need 400 for the achievement

If you want to boost: there are two good spots in the game.
1)The first is during the mission 'let's build a robot army' when you get to the spot where you have to let the turrets get 12 kills just ground pound in front of the door they come out of. Make sure you keep an eye out and pick up any moonstone that drops. When the turret gets up to 10 kills just save and quit and when you reload the counter will be reset and you can farm again.
2) The other good farming spot is much later, after you beat the game you will be able to accept a quest called 'guardian hunter' (forgive me but i forget the area in which you accept it). This mission will task you with killing guardians. All you have to do for this farm is kill the first guardian with your best gun and then stand in front of where the guardians respawn and just keep headshotting them over and over again.

As for chests there is one in the Titan Robot Production Plant that is very easy to get to. Once you kill the boss of that area (which will also drop tons of moonstone) there will be a door that opens to the left of the bosses body with a moonstone chest open it and then save and quit and repeat.

Do you know if all 10 need to be on the same character? If I open 5 with my Claptrap, can I open the other 5 on my Athena?

@BIGB EC that is only if you have the achievement unlocked on the 360. If you don;t you have to keep opening them until you get to 10. Also of note, during this increased drop period, go to Triton Flats and go to the darksiders base (where the fast travel station is) and fight the enemies on the first floor. There is a mini boss (who's name escapes me atm) who always respawns when you leave the area. Very easy to kill and drops 5-6 moonstones per kill. You can just fast travel to another place then fast travel back to Triton Flats and he will be there again

I'm starting to believe this needs to be done with one character. I have level 42, 25, 15 and 10 characters and have opened multiple chests with them all, but still no achievement.

Honestly i am completely unsure. You'd have to test that yourself as i have only done it on my one character, sorry

Gearbox increased drop rates for a week or two to make up for messing up cloud saves, which is why there are so many moonstone's and other rare loot dropping.

FYI if you import a character from the 360 you should only need to loot one moonstone crate.

Step 1: Gather 300-325 Moonstones

If you're starting this from scratch, you will ultimately need 400 moonstones to open 10 chests, but with the right chest farm you can go with 300-325 stones.

I recommend doing this on a higher level character that can kill Iwajira in Serenity's Waste on normal mode within seconds. Using this method to farm moonstones will result in 20-30 stones every few minutes.

Step 2: Farm Chests

Perhaps the fastest way to farm moonstone chests is through the Titan Robot Production Plant on normal mode. You will only need approximately 300-325 stones via this method, as killing the boss will net you around 10 new stones per run plus the chance of getting stones in the chest room.

Fast travel to the robot plant and run straight through to the end (it's a straight shot) where the boss spawns. Kill it, loot any stones it drops, and go to the room that opens in the back to open a moonstone chest. Open every chest in the room for a chance at more stones.

Quit, reload, and repeat until you have the achievement.

When you're, done just Quit the Game and then go to Continue. Pretty much do this till you have 400 Moonstones (40x per Moonstone Chest).
Or if you've been consistently collecting Moonstones throughout the game and have been opening Moonstone chests regularly, just keep playing normally and you'll eventually get this trophy halfway through your TVHM playthrough.

Step Two:
Open Moonstone Chests. There are six Moonstone Chest Locations:

– Crisis Scar
– Pity’s Fall
– Titan Robot Embarkation
– Eye of Helios
– Vorago Solitude
– Moon Core

You can open each Chest multiple times. The fastest Way is to run trough the Titan Robot Production Plant again and again, it will only take about two minutes per run. If you opened one Chests, quit the Game and Continue until the trophy pops.

Moonstone chests are just loot chests but they require 40 Moonstone to unlock and reveal the goodies within. Loot 10 such Moonstone chests and the achievement is yours.

When you find one such chest you can open it, save and quit, then re-open the same one, which will save you from having to find 10 unique chests. If you happen to have 400 Moonstone you can get this achievement relatively quickly on the same chest.

A good chest to boost for this can be found at the end of 'Titan Robot Production Plant' where you defeat 'Rampant Felicity' during the mission 'Let's Build A Robot Army'. When you fast travel to the area it will only take you a few minutes to run to the opposite end of the map. At the back of the room where you fight Rampant Felicity there are 2 shutters that open after you defeat her, one has a fast travel behind it, the other has the Moonstone chest. Run to it, open it, save and quit, then repeat until the achievement unlocks.

See the thread linked in the achievement “Moxxi’s Sampler” for a glitch on how to get infinite moonstones.

To ignore this It is best to complete it according to the plot. Around level 13-16 (without completing side missions) you will receive story mission 7 (from Jack)
Let's Build a RobotArmy
in the TitanRobot Production Plant location
After killing the prototype robot at the end of the mission, a room will open in the left corner of the hall (not displayed on the map), and there is a lunar chest there.
  • Take the chest
  • Go to the menu
  • Loading the save
  • Kill the robot (Don't forget to collect moonstones)
  • We repeat the algorithm until we get the desired

Video guide .
Location of the room with the chest.

Also, such a chest is located in a place where you need to turn off the laser. Open the chest, save and exit, click continue and go open the chest again.
By the way, next to it there is a teleport, for example, to return to Concordia and grind purple/blue things.
Opening a chest costs 40 moonstones, so it's worth stocking up on them by now.

You will periodically encounter such chests as you explore locations. Opening such a chest costs 40 moonstones. Usually there are purple things in the chest.
