How to unlock the Modern Fart achievement in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Definitive Guide
*NOTE*: People who are importing their save on the 360 to the One I believe are required to do this mission again, at least that was the case for me. (I completed it in normal mode and have to do it again on True Vault Hunter mode for the achievement). If someone could confirm this or mention if there is another easier way to obtain it that would be great and save some time.
I will say now it requires the use of two controllers though. Use split screen and ensure the second player is a temporary guest account. Usually this would be detrimental, not allowing for any progress with the temporary character to be saved, but this can be taken advantage of.
Drop the two basic weapons the newly created character amid provided with by default then save and reload, rinse and repeat.
-Clear some space in your backpack
-Go to Vorago Solitude
-Shoot some Eternal baddies in the face until they start to ascend.
-Get the gun they just dropped (works every time 100% of the time)
-Repeat until your inventory is full!
-Drop those in the intended box
-Go back to step 2!
This mission is a little lengthy and tedious purely because it requires you to collect 50 common (white) weapons and deposit them in a mailbox, as well perform a few side objectives throughout the process.
You pick up the mission in Triton Flats area from the bulletin board, and the mission itself is a level 11 quest.
The rewards in Normal Vault Hunter Mode are:
-$70,
-1363 XP and the
-Support Relay http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Support_Relay
Overall this quest is not complicated, its just a bit of a pain because when you receive it, your storage deck is probably not upgraded very high, meaning you can't hold a ton of weapons. Mine was at 18 items to be held upon completion of this, and I was also holding some weapons to swap out depending on the type of enemies I was fighting.
Also its not really worth it to buy common level weapons, as they tend to cost about $1,200 on average when you are in the level 18-ish range.
My best advice for this quest is:
-sell off or store any unnecessary weapons that are green value or higher
-check every storage locker or weapon crate you pass by and take all white weapons seen
-smash every rock or destroyable item that contains items
-kill large groups of enemies to check for white weapons
-invest in upgrading your Storage Deck with moonstones
Note: Only white guns count, not grenade mods, Oz kits, shields or class mods. The type of gun does not matter, they all count towards the 50 requirement.
The best method to complete the quest is to wait until you've finished the main story, save up moonstones and spend them at crazy earls shop in Concordia (located tucked away behind the Moxxis bar) on upgrading your backpack SDU so you can carry more guns. Then fast travel to 'Tycho's Ribs' pick up the 3 white guns from the lost legion eternals - then exit to the main menu and rinse and repeat until your backpack is full, then travel back to 'Triton Flats' and donate what weapons you can until all the side objectives are complete. Once you have 50 guns donated fast travel back to Concordia and witness the revolution!
Buying guns from shops and searching lockers is extremely ineffective compared to this method and whilst in normal mode the reward is only level 11 the effects on the Oz kit were even better then my level 28 Oz kit.
This side mission is found quite early on in the 'Triton Flats' area. You need to find 50 common rarity weapons, which are the White weapons and donate them into a mailbox. You will likely not use White weapons after the beginning so you won't need them and they are hardly worth selling, so every time you see one, pick it up then when you get the chance or when your inventory is full, go and deposit them into the mailbox. After every 10 weapons you deposit you will be given another task to do in the mission, but it is usually a short task within the area where you deposit the guns.
After you have deposited all 50 guns you will need to travel to Concordia and witness the 'revolution' that you are now solely responsible for. Turn it in for the achievement.
