Or you can get this achivement very easy by just joining a public game you dont have to ready up and go ingame just in the lobby will work fine... should be easy to get now since this achivement is wide spread now....

Yeah, this was basically the easiest achievement I have ever received. I literally loaded up the game, went into quick match and the achievement popped and then I just quit the game. Lol.

Is anyone having luck getting this? I keep trying to do quick match and after watching the loading screen it just goes black. Tried custom match and it does the same thing even if I find another person.

Achievement did not pop while playing with one friend that had it. Had to play with another in order to get the achievement. And the multiplayer for this game is pretty dead so all these "guides" are extremely outdated.

Tried loading into a lobby with WallBreakerRic who is playing on Xbox one whilst I was on 360.
Black screened on both sides, might be an issue that 360 players can't connect with players on Xbox One.

This is a viral achievement spread through the co-op mode of the game. To get this you must play a co-op game with someone who has the achievement or is an employee of Gearbox (gamertag starting with GBX).

On October 23rd, 2009 there will be a game with Gearbox event (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/calendar/gamewithde....htm) for Borderlands. A good bet to play with the devs is to sign up for this event.

On this page you can click the link listing the tracked gamers that have the achievement and ask to join their game (especially if they are boosting).

As with Yoo911619, if you want the achievement see if I'm around and playing and I'll join in and give it to you. I am in Australia though and only online at night here, but people elsewhere around the globe can take their chances and see if I'm online.

Seriously though, its very easy to get, I got on my first online co-op game last night and got the achievement straight away - in fact, before I even entered the game!

One of the players I was about to join a game with had it.

If you're like me then you just recently picked up borderlands for free with gold. This achievement seems tricky but since the game came out 7 years ago this achievemnt is hugely widespread. You would think finding anyone online in a game so old would be tough, but you shouldn't have a problem. Just join a quick match from the menu andyou stand an extremely good chance of finding a game with someone with this achievement. It pops before you are actually in the game so you'll know roight away. My first try at this I got it immediately, I may just have gotten lucky. If it doesn't pop for you back out and search again. If you spend a while trying to get it and by some miracle fail to feel free to send me a message, I'll get it for you no problem.

*Something of note, I typically play splitscreen and even though I had the achievement and my guest (who had his own profile with xbox live) was in my game, he did not get it, so it can not be transferred through split screen, which means as far as I can tell, without xbox live gold this is impossible to get.

This really is not hard at all.Just play online and there's an extremely large chance someone will have this.Menu>Xbox Live>Quick Match>Achievement Unlocked.Easy as that.

Also it is Viral Month in TA there should be sessions for this achievement.

You need to play multiplayer with someone that has the achievement
The hard part about this achievement is that holder of the achievement can only pass it on for 12 months, and most people now play GOTY: Enhanced.
I gained it today and will keep the game installed until a year from now so if required I can pass it on. Beware I am in Australia so if you are elsewhere, it might be hard to organise.

This is a viral trophy and will most likely pop when you enter into an online session via the main game screen. It pops almost immediately upon entering the game so there is no need to do anything at all.

This is a "Viral" Achievement. To get this you need to play in the same game session as someone who already has this achievement.

Given the age of the Achievement, It's more than possible to obtain visiting with random online player games.

A very easy trophy. I received it immediately after logging online for the first time.

It is not necessary to complete the level or even play, you just need to join the game.

The trophy is really easy, just join an online game (I got it on the first try, I advise you to definitely join a player with a high level - preferably more than 35)

(Upd: A patch has been released that restores online functionality, so what is written below is no longer needed, but can be used in other games)

This peat can also be obtained using XLink Kai. It emulates a local network between computers connected to the Internet (see the source in the tip above). In short, you need a computer/laptop with two network cards or a network output and Wi-Fi, a network cable and a PS3.

Install the XLink Kai program on your computer/laptop, launch Configure Kai and in the Network Adapter field select the network card to which you will connect the PS3. Register on the program website, then launch Start User Interface, a login-password window will appear, enter the ones you specified during registration.

Connect the set-top box and laptop with a network cable.

PS3 needs to be reconfigured to a wired connection. Select Network settings - Internet connection setup - OK - Special - Wired connection - manual settings - select all parameters as they are except UPnP, turn it off - cross to apply the settings - Test connection.

If you have Kai running on your computer and everything is configured correctly, the test will show successful acquisition of an IP address and failure to connect to the Internet. If otherwise, check if Kai is running and you are logged in.

If everything went well, then all you have to do is find a person with a donated trophy and a desire to help. Launch the LAN game, create/connect and voila)
