The key to this is to find the critical hit locations. While you could shoot the tongue or the tentacles that occasionally reveal themselves, it would be much easier to simply hide slightly behind a pillar and continuously shoot its eye, which also counts for critical damage. This will allow you to stay in cover in the same location and continue to hit criticals throughout the entire battle.

The final boss of the game, not as daunting as it seems.

The first thing you want to do is take out the purple sac things on its tentacles. They fire out poisonous dart-like arrows which can arc over the pillars you hide behind, so taking them out is a must, preferably with a scoped SMG.

Once the initial two tentacles have been destroyed, wait for the Destroyer to open its mouth so you can shoot at its tongue. Don't bother with its giant eye, the amount of time lining up a shot to hit it gives him enough time to hit you and the tongue remains a critical hit spot.

After dealing sufficient damage to its tongue, the Destroyer will wrap a tentacle around a couple of pillars either side of the arena. Before you do anything else, take out the 4 new tentacles it has spawned to avoid the poisonous arrow attack. They drain your shield and health like no tomorrow.

After the 4 tentacles have been destroyed, if you are a Berserker, activate your Beserk attck and keep punching the tentacles wrapped around the pillars until it dies. If you are one of the other 3 classes, I still recommend using your special attack, but you must focus on finding scattered ammo, normally near the New-U station.

As previously mentioned by other solutions, if you are close to dying, JUMP OFF THE EDGE OF THE ARENA. You will return to full health whereas the Destroyer will be on the same amount.

As it is the final boss of the game, it will obviously not go down in one or two hits. This is an endurance battle, but as lon as you keep your wits about you, it won't pose too much of a threat.

Follow the above guides to do a good amount of damage, but if you are playing solo, you may have quite a bit of trouble, especially as the siren (for me anyway). If you manage to get downed, be cautious to leave at least one tentacle alive. If you shoot it enough, it will count as a second wind. I recommend using a revolver or sniper for this to stay on target without iron sights aiming. Also, forget using elemental weapons, as he has quite a bit of elemental resistance. If you must, choose explosive rounds, but a high damage standard weapon will be much more effective. If you somehow get killed enough to become low on ammo, look near where those purple missiles explode, as they drop ammo.

This is the boss at the end of the game, he is fairly simple to kill. All you have to do is aim for certain areas
When the fight starts he will send out a tongue thing shoot that for critical hits, Then he sends out four tentacle with purple sacs on them hit those. Keep on doing that and avoid his evil eye laser and you should be fine.

Ok all the solutions above are good but this is what i did :
- First:
I do a little damage by shooting his eye ... Just use a machine gun dont matter wich one as long as it has big damage deal
- Second:
I always shoot the purple sacs on the tentacles because they shoot purple rockets and they can do some great damage if 2 or more hit you when they explod. And the sacs are critical spots.
- Third:
When I did these steps I saw that he wraps tentacles around some pillars .... This is when u are gonna do the real damage. For this step make sure u have a shotgun with high damage ( doesn't have to but it takes less bullets ans less time )... Other weapons are good but shotgun deals a lot of damage in a single shot. I always go to the first right tentacle and stand next to it behind the pillar, don't worry the tentacle doesn't move so no damage from that thing. Stand good behind he pillar so that the eye laser cant hurt you. Now just start shooting the tentacle but beware of the purple sac tentacles because they come back several times and start shooting more missles every time. Because when they hit you , you will be blown away into open space and he will fire his laser on you.

P.s. I used this strategy on 2 playtroughs with my sniperguy so its even good for high level.

Shoot the purple sacs in the tentacles when those are gone hit the eye and stay behind the big pillar farthest back when he uses laser then just shoot eye till he can regen the tentacles so watch out

Like the other guides say he is farily easy, you could just keep shooting the eye for critical hits but when i fought him the purple tentacles shot out exploding darts which were particularly devastating against my lvl 35 hunter class, so i would advice taking out these tentacles by shooting the purple sacs and just keep shooting the eye. Hide behind the pilars and watch be carfull you don't get too close to the edge, he often stomps his tentacles on the ground which can throw you off the edge

THIS IS SOOOOOO MUCH EASIER THAN YOU MIGHT THINK! I got that off my chest. Once you get to the destroyer use the travel thingie to go to firestone and once there load up on ammunition and health. The key is to have a sub machine gune with incindiary rounds and proton grenades. Then go back to the destroyer throw your grenades in the mouth of the beast open or closed doesnt matter throw the grenades and unload on the mouth with the subb machine gun, it took me all of about 60 seconds to beat the destroyer with my level 35.

Trick I found on x360a that works like a charm, upgrade your grenade capacity to 8 and get a good Explosive MIRV grenade mod; I used my Lvl47 Siren, and basically just threw every grenade into his mouth, should take about 30 seconds for him to die from this.

You should be about 10 levels above him if you don't wanna take any risks.

When you begin the fight, start by shooting the center of the Destroyer's eye for a while.
Eventually some tentacles will come out. These will shoot poisonous darts at you in a parabolic trajectory. These dangerous darts can do a lot of damage if multiple hit you. Destroy the tentacles by shooting the weak spots. Then continue to shoot the eye. After a while, it will start to shoot lasers out of its eyes every once in a while. You can avoid these by hiding behind a pillar. One of the main center ones is perfect. Eventually, the Destroyer will come out further. It will, at some point go forward some distance and grab the outermost pillars. Now the tentacles are vulnerable to melee attacks. If you hide behind them, none of the ranged darts will hit you. I recommend the one to the left. You can keep using melee attacks on the Destroyer until it dies. You'll then get this achievement right away.
