Applied an elemental artifact

How to unlock the You call this archaeology? achievement in Borderlands - Definitive Guide

Elemental artifacts can be applied to a character's action skill (Mordecai's bird, Roland's deployable turret) in order to give the skill an elemental ability. They come in four types:

Incendiary
Shock
Corrosive
Explosive

When you receive your first elemental artifact, apply it to unlock the achievement and give your action skill an elemental ability.

Keep in mind, however, that you may be better off selling elemental artifacts after you find one you like, since they do not stack and you may only have one element active at a time. Applying additional artifacts simply overwrites your currently-applied element.

You can equip multiple elemental artifacts; only one can be active at a time.
On the skill tree screen, select the elemental artifacts and you should be able to change which one is active.

Elemental Artifacts are items applied to a character's action skill. They can be obtained through missions and also dropped by enemies and bosses from time to time. The earliest mission you can get one is by completing Shock Crystal Harvest, which is available via the Fyrestone Bounty Board when you are level 14 (may need to have progressed a certain amount through the main storyline as well). Once you equip an Elemental Artifact to your character, the trophy will unlock.

Happy Hunting :)

These can drop randomly from enemies or can be given as quest rewards later in the story. Once looted, you can equip these from your backpack by selecting.

You can also change which artifact you have equipped by going to your Skills Tab in the menu by pressing . To change, it move left from your Action Skill and press to change to which ever one you prefer.

A fairly easy trophy that can be obtained around level 16-18 in Arid Badlands.

The artifact will be given to you as a reward for completing the quest. It's almost impossible to miss if you complete all the quests for the Made in Fyrestone trophy.

Once received, go to your inventory and simply use the artifact.

A very simple trophy. You will receive it almost immediately after completing the task where you have to kill Mo and Marley (these are the mini-Bosses that you will kill according to the plot). Or you can get it when you pass the task where you need to collect shock crystals (But I would advise killing Mo and Marley first, it was easier for me)
