How to unlock the History Sleuth achievement in Botany Manor - Definitive Guide

It is important to note you need to have looked at the poster inside the painting room before the hatch will open.

The room can be accessed from chapter 3 onwards.

From the Orchard gate, continue to follow the path and up the stairs to enter the Orangery room.

The key to the painting room is found on a window edge just past the second set of doors.

Once you have the key head out through the doors we went past and open the painting room just on the inside.

From here, look at the poster on the right to obtain the date 1593.

Following the hallway, head into the kitchen pantry and place the bottles on the scales so they read the date 1593.

This will open the hatch and take you to the bottom level of the Orangery.

*if you have placed the code prior to checking the poster, you will just have to pick a bottle up and place it back on to open the hatch*

Chapter 3 In the kitchen there's a map of Botany manor, Interact with it first to get the code 1593 (the year it is built), then make your way to pantry area.

There are some weights in the corner, arrange them as '1-5-9-3' on scale to open a secret door for this achievement.
This process is progress/story related, so the achievement is not missable.

In Chapter 3, as you go into the Painting Room, there is a map of the Manor Flooplan on the wall on your right as you enter, you must interact with it. You'll see the year it was built was 1593, we need this for a code to open the secret doorway. Head back to the kitchen and go to the small room to the left with the weights, add the 1 - 5 - 9 - 3 weights to the scale and the door will open.

The video will help you find and explain all the clues along the way too.

The guide says the map is in the Kitchen, but it is actually in the Painting Room.

The entrance to the priest's hideout is found in the Kitchen pantry. To open it, you will need to place the weights on the scale to make the year 1593.

Chapter 3

Enter the kitchen pantry and use the weights to solve a code. The code is
1593
Then enter the hidden passage that opens.
