I had a horrid time finding the stupid cow in my game, did not spawn where all the video guides/walkthroughs said it would be. Instead for me it was at the end of a long line of broken down ship parts leading off towards the blue cold zone. For a starting reference , I started out leaving the bio module that has oxygen, heading almost directly straight ahead.
