How to unlock the Time to start a new character achievement in Brink - Definitive Guide
12,000-16,000+ XP every 10 minutes.
The information below is also clearly (and visually) explained within the video located at the bottom of the guide.
If you select "Invite Only", you can gain an extra 20% (2000+) at the end of the match.
Character:
Make sure you are a heavy class, with the Chinzor MG as a primary weapon. Add attachments to suit your personal needs. Buy the Caltrop grenade for the Operative class, if possible, and set Operative as your default class.
Mission:
Start the last Security Mission (Day 8: Fallout), on solo easy. As an operative, make sure you select "Defend Vent System" on your objective wheel, and run to the room where the vents are located. Now you will wait until enemies come to attack these points, and whenever you kill them, disguise yourself for a 125xp bonus. You will also be getting "defending" points for being near the objective. Keep running between the two rooms, and disguising yourself whenever you get the chance. Try to stay away from dying. Also, make sure to throw a caltrop grenade into the doorway of one of the vent rooms, to get points when enemies walk into the room. It will also warn you that they are coming. You should be able to about 1,000 xp every minute, and get a bonus for being successful (15%). At the end, just "retry" the mission if you want to continue boosting.
Video Solution Guide:
You need to make an objective game and make it friends and invite only.

I always went after the right vent(probably can go left if you want) and it works much better with a character lower tier 2 or under.(level 13 and down)
What you do is you run in and hack the vent, when the AI comes (usually from the top middle the first time) you kill him.
If you stand right behind the hack box with the vent blocking your view from the door, the AI will always come in the room from that side and start to defuse if he doesn't see you. He will lock into the defuse even if he sees you after he starts (happens at level 20 too but the AI can stop defusing after a 1 minute or so if he is looking right at you). kill him and start hacking again.
Do this until the hacker hits 70-75%. After that you continue to hide on the left side of the vent right next to the hack box but about 3 steps back, with your characters body completely hiding from the site of the bot but don't kill him when he locks in.
Again seeing no enemy, the bot will run up to the vent and hack. Even if he sees you after starting he won't stop hacking (at lower levels), but to be safe you should hide to the opposite side of where the bot comes to defuse at. If he is to the left, you're to the right of the vent. And if he is in the middle just hide straight behind the Vent. Basically keep the vent between the you and the AI.
Now this is the important part, you start to back away from the Hacking vent until the percentage in the right goes from yellow to orange/brown. This means the AI is defusing more than you are hacking. It happens around 4 bars of connection or when you see your hack points are at +12 or +13.(At higher levels the AI could have engineer skills that let him defuse faster, so tier 3 players might have to sit closer)
Once you are in a sweet spot of inching forward and backwards in this range, make sure you leave it just in the orange/brown range. This will likely freeze the counter or worse case it will take the bot hours to defuse from 95%. After that you just walk away, go to sleep, change your car oil......what ever.
Because if you get this right the game will go into Overtime and keep going, after 120 minutes you should have about 170,000 exp if you stop hacking and let the bot defuse. Never Quit.
These are all projections because I was done with the game after 1 hour.
If you left for 2 hours it you should have 240,000 and a 15% bonus 3600.
3 hours would be 360,000 bonus 54,000.
4 hours would be 480,000 bonus 72,000.
So in 3 1/2 to 4 hours, you can go from level 1 to 24.
Sidenote: for level 13 and higher tier 3 plus players, the computer will be more aggressive because he has more skill/skills. The engineer will be much more likely to stop his hack to look for you if you are too close or to put down a turret or mine.
Level 20 players should check after 30 minutes to a hour to see if they are dead on the ground. You can get it to where he will leave you alone depending on the AI they set for that match, but things can go wrong with the super aggressive Bot.
He usually has the ability to shoot after you down him. Watch out for that bot if you are level 20 or higher.
*******Update:To avoid the aggressive Bot- " Start up Brink offline. This disables the DLC which is important. I can verify from testing that the so-called "smart" or aggressive AI only appears when the DLC is active. In the menus, now sign back into XBL and set up the vs. match, but this is the great part - the DLC will remain disabled."
The Level caps at 20 and exp at 300,00 but it saves all exp earned and it will unlock the next time you log in to the DLC

The Video pretty much explains it all, but with 2 players.
As has been stated Operative vs Engineer on a hack mission is the best way to go.
Set up a private match on reactor or Terminal. Reactor sems to be a slightly shorter run to the target. Make it min team 0. Also both players should go light build if they have acces to it already, as this will speed up the run time to the objective giving more time to hack.
You can do this 1 vs 1 or have more engineers is probably best.
Every time the Operative places a Hack box this is 75 points and he can do this in the time it takes him to get about 30 points hacking. Have the Engineer remove it as soon as he places it. The operative will get about 30-40 points while the Engineer removes it.
During this time both players will also get defending and guarding points. Just play until the time runs out and repeat.
During this method both players if they are onto it and keep a good flow will get about 15000 xp in under 10 minutes.
Firstly, props to KamiKazeKore and Tatakai no Kami. this is a modification of their strategys
So setup the game in the following manner:
Freeplay - Private Match - Versus - Only Invation (+20%)
Map: Reactor
Min Player: 0
Max Player: 1
Overtime: Yes
Player that needs most XP as Resistance, other players as Security
Resistance: Operative
Security: Engineer
Both go to the same vent
Resistance player starts hacking
Security waits until percentage is at 20% then simultaneously starts to remove hackbox (they will have to hold the X button down to accomplish this, perhaps some sticky tape ?)
IMPORTANT: Both players are hacking AND removing at the same time so BOTH players get XP at the same time
Now, in this setup, you will notice that the hack percentage still goes up. In order to combat this, the Resistance player that is hacking simply needs to move further back so that the hack is less effective
Back by how much ? Well the easy bit is to move back until the hack percentage counter in the top right of the screen turns from yellow to orange. Once it has done this move EVER so slightly forward until it goes back to yellow, no more
Once you have this setup, the percentage will no move, the timer will run to 0 and then overtime will continue, there is NO end game in this situation (I've had it up to 1h34m like this)
No further effort is required AT ALL until the game ends (unbelieveable I know)
CAUTION: The XP counter will RESET once it gets to 99,999 XP. Therefore you MUST stop the game at approx 90,000 XP in order to allow for the end game bonus (yes I found out the hard way, lost over 100k in XP :( )
Remember, the security player will get MORE XP than resistance, but considering you can get approx 80-90k EACH in one go without any effort, easy to repeat
Best of luck
D&M
You have to be an Operative. Get Comm Hack as soon as you can. Start a stopwatch game at 30 minutes on any level where you are defending(this way you can ensure that the full 30 minutes is played). Set it to be you vs all bots vs all bots. Defend the objective but your main focus is to Comm Hack and Disguise on every enemy you see. If you are already disguised pull the trigger to remove the disguise and disguise again immediately. If you do this you should get anywhere from 15,000-19,000 experience, plus the win multiplier will land you between 20 and 30 thousand per game.
Enjoy
EDIT: Best map that I have found so far is Terminal on Resistance side.
Solo
Map: Reactor
Match duration:30 Minutes
Difficulty:Easy
Min Team Size:1
Max Team Size:8
Force team Balance: Off
Ok so now just put a hackbox on and sit behind it. Wait for the computer to start disarming and instead of kill him each time you can actually just keep the hacking. Getting closer to the hack box the faster it will hack and the farther away the computer will disarm faster. Stand in a spot soo that your getting 12xp and it will slowly go up but not to fast soo you wont acttually hack the point.
And again i just took the idea from the video and made it easier im not taking credit just found an easier way hope it helps!
First, make sure you have the Honing Beacon ability. Comms Hack can also be helpful, but not required for this method.
One of the best ways to do this achievement is to set the game on easy and start a mission in which you defend (this way you get the full time bonus). Also make sure you go to freeplay, make a private match, set it to Stopwatch - 30 minutes instead of objective, and make the lobby invite only (The game recognizes the private match as an online match, so you get an extra 20% bonus just for being "online".). The second What-If mission for the Security campaign is especially good because there are five objectives you can defend from (Refuel - Security side)
Find a dead body (or hey, just kill somebody!) and then disguise yourself. Run through the enemy team and get close to their spawn, but not too close. Now just aim down sights and use your honing beacon constantly. You get 50xp for every time that you create a target.

Your friends can join while doing this but if they join a bot will go away, and you must one bot in the enemy team to get the XP.
When you are boosting the XP you must be engineer to get the full 75 points.

Written walkthrough:
Run up change to operative> run down mid and into right door, hack first objective, view small cutscene, run up change to engineer and run right side and crack into safe > instantly run back the way you came(auto pick up the datakey if u stand in middle at the safe) and run up the stairs straight ahead and keep heading forwards and hold x on the last thing and ur done, rinse and repeat.
Private Match - Versus - Only Invation (+20%)

The Player in Security Team Repair the crane - Resitance build the 2 walls
In next Chapter Security Agent Hacks the terminal and in the same time the Resitance Mechanic repairs the terminal :) (tape x button or something like that)
So both get XP the hole time ~ 1500 XP/min
Edit:
Or Map: Reactor
There you can Hack & Repair the "first target" there you get ~ 1800/min
Basically you set it up the same way only the other player is an a.i. Now I've played with it on both vents and both times I found a spot in which you'll be removing as the a.i is hacking. The a.i will just walk back and forth on the other side of the vent.
It is best to NOT have sense of perspective ability as you will not be able to move side to side. So make sure your on the security team as you will earn more xp and I'm almost certain that if your on the resistance team and you start the hack the a.i will just knock you down and kill you.
Now if the a.i sees you and shoots at you, just run away so they can hack again. If you do kill them you will just be wasting time as it takes them a good 30 seconds to get back. You might have to move side to side so they don't see you, but if you play with it you should be fine, You can even go into overtime just so as long as they are hacking, I've earned 10000 to 20000 a match.
If they stop hacking to shoot you in overtime, just hold it and move side t side as long as you can. If done right you should be around 10000 if not more by overtime.
This is my first solution/guide so cut me a break. Again this is the SOLO version of DastardlyMutley method. So if you cant find a boosting partner or would rather go about this alone then I think this is pretty good.

You will need a total of 300,000 XP in order to obtain this trophy. There are 5 levels with each having 4 levels before reaching the next rank, with 5 being the highest. Once you have completed the Single player campaign and all the challenges, you can either go online to achieve the rest of your levels and ranks or play a Private match. If you plan to play a private match you can earn a total of 6,000 to 10,000+ XP for every 30 minutes.
List of all the ranks, levels and experience:
- Rank 1: Level 1 - 4

Your first objective is to guard a gate, and another objective is to disable the Maintenance Robot. All you need to do is stay crouched near the gate and continue to take out enemies until the robot starts to come towards you, then just toss a grenade, and a Molotov if you are a soldier, and keep shooting at the robot with an assault rifle while simultaneously switching out for an SMG at some points to take out overwhelming enemies. The mission is easy due to the fact that your AI partners will continue to stay around you at the gate during this mission. Thanks CorpusDelecti for the tip.
Here are two videos that can help with gain XP a little faster than just playing the game over and over.
Thanks MakasGuides for the video guide.

Rank 5 requires you to be a level 20. You will get most of your levels by playing through the campaign in Versus. Depending on how much you win, how well you do personally, and even what mission you play will result in how much XP you get. If you complete the match you get an additional 15%, and if you play online you get an extra 20%. This is another reason it's good to always play Versus. Even if you are doing solo missions, make sure you at least just set it to a private match to get that extra 20%.
Rank 1: 0 XP (level 0)
Rank 2: 15,250 XP (level 5)
Rank 3: 60,750 XP (level 10)
Rank 4: 148,000 XP (level 15)
Rank 5: 300,000 XP (level 20)
12,000-16,000+ XP every 10 minutes.
