How to unlock the Make Up for Some Hygiene Demerits achievement in Broken Age - Definitive Guide

When you're up in the sky city you'll be looking for an egg. After getting the ladder with H'rmony, go past the blue Bird that took you there. Eventually you'll find a big tree. Go next to the center until you fall. Walk a few steps and you'll find him hanging. Talk to him and eventually you'll get the achievement.

If needed, go up the tree and fall through one of the sinkholes to the right. You'll fall on top of him and release him.

This didn't pop for me initially, I went back up the tree, shook the branch and came back down through the trunk and talked to him again, still didn't pop so I clicked on him and talked again and it finally unlocked.

Followed these steps as well as tried talking to him a lot and it didn't pop. Guessing it's pretty buggy.

This achievement didn't unlock for me either on the first few attempts. Then when I picked "Mind if I just squeeze past you?" as the last dialog option instead of "Well, you hang in there, Kid." the achievement popped. Not sure if this was a coincidence.

Vella Act 1

This trophy is missable. From the centre of Meriloft, you need to head out past Jessie, the bird that is sat in her nest incubating a gold egg, towards the Giant Fruit Tree. Slide down the Tree's trunk to get to the lower level of branches. Walk out along the right branch and you will find Gus hanging from the branch above it. Exhaust all of his dialogue options to get this trophy.

As a side note, to be able to climb up to Jessie's nest and the path to the Giant Fruit Tree, you will need to have acquired the Ladder from M'ggie beforehand.

Missable

In Vella Act 1, you will eventually arrive in the Cloud Town of Meriloft. After getting the ladder and using it on the platform where Jessie is, walk past her to the Large Peach Tree and fall down the hole the tree is growing from. When you land walk right and meet Gus. Exhaust all the dialogue options for the trophy to pop.

MISSABLE

Vella - Act One

After you use the ladder and pass the big blue bird with the golden egg, you will come to a tree. First thing that is needed is to go to the left and select the branch with fruit. Go down the trunk and to the left to get the fruit and eat it. Do this again but this time don't eat the fruit.

Now, select the trunk to go down and then right to meet a man stuck on the branch. Exhaust the dialogue to unlock this achievement. Avoid the holes in the cloud as you may knock the person from the branch.

The trophy is easy to miss.

You need to try all the dialogue options with Gus, the dude stuck in the branches of a tree on an airy island.
