How to unlock the Artificer achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide
For this achievement, you must win a run (make it to round 20) with Artificer. To unlock the Artificer for play, you must kill 15 enemies with one explosion. This will also net you the
which you can view a solution for if you need help by clicking on the link above.
Artificer has the following stats/modifiers
-Max HP
-Life Steal/HP Regeneration (It doesn't matter much which one you get. you can also get a little of both if you want. If I remember correctly I mostly went with Life Steal but picked up a few points of HP Regeneration too.)
-Elemental Damage (this is the most important stat, as your explosion size will increase the more you have), as well as Melee/Ranged Damage based on which build you want to go with
-Attack Speed
-Dodge
-Harvesting (Good to pick up where you can as it will give you that extra little boost in materials after every round.)
Stats to avoid:
-Engineering (It helps just slightly in a melee build, but just ignore it for the most part.)
-Armor (Armor upgrades are halved, so pick Dodge instead.)
-%Damage (You start with -100% so theres not a huge point in getting this until maybe late game if you have plenty of Dodge/Attack Speed.
-Luck (Not really worth it on this character.)
Melee Build
For a melee build with Artificer, you are only going to be using one weapon, the Plank. It is tagged with the Explosive and Elemental designation, which means the more you have, the more explosion size and elemental damage you can gain as bonuses, with up to +25% explosion size and +5 Elemental Damage when you are holding the maximum amount (6) The Plank will deal damage that scales with Melee Damage, Elemental Damage, and Engineering (again don't focus on Engineering.) It has a 25-40% chance to cause on explosion on hit based on its tier.
Ranged Build
For a ranged build with Artificer, you are going to be using a few different weapons depending on your luck. The weapon you will start with, and will probably have for most the run if not all of it, is the Shredder. It is basically just a pistol that shoots explosive bullets. Don't let it fool you as it is definitely powerful, especially when paired with Artificer's modifiers. However as you keep playing through your run you may get lucky and find the Rocket Launcher in the shop. Purchase this as soon as you can, as this is a direct upgrade of the Shredder. Ideally you will be using a mix of high level Shredders and Rocket Launchers. Additionally, if you've completed a run with the Soldier character, you have a chance to get the Nuclear Launcher in the shop. Again this is a direct upgrade to the previous two. When combined with high Attack Speed, this thing is DEADLY.
Helpful Items (These items should be purchased for either build, and they should be purchased as many times as you can.)
-Dynamite: Gives +15% Explosion Damage
-Plastic Explosive: +25% Explosion Size
Obviously if you want the easiest method, play a run on Danger 0, which will spawn the easiest enemies. Personally I chose the ranged build, as after playing both, I find it to be more effective remember that while Elemental Damage is the most important stat, it is good to get a nice mix of stat upgrades. You also gain Max HP every time you level up, so don't worry about that one as much.
