How to unlock the Creature achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide
Curse is my favorite part of this DLC! We're going to embrace Curse fully as the Creature benefits from it, plus for winning a run with them we'll get a very useful Unique item for future runs that lets us utilize Curse better - spoiler tagged in case you like to avoid learning of rewards ahead of time:
Curse makes enemies stronger but also drop more materials. When items are cursed they have greater effects and the drawbacks to certain items are reduced. Creature starts with a cursed Fish Hook which gives a chance for any locked item to become cursed on the next wave. With this in mind, we ONLY want to buy items when they've become cursed. I didn't buy a single normal item. If it's something I wanted, I locked it and waited.
Creature has two drawbacks. You lose 10 range at the end of a wave, and you lose -5% XP gain at the end of a wave. We're going to go for a full Gun build to largely offset the range loss, however I ignored the XP gain loss. There are items you can get to help get your XP gain back up but I didn't have luck with those items appearing and never really felt like it was worth it. Level up bonuses are good, but having damage scale off curse along with a whole build of cursed items is going to make up for it.
Start off with the SMG or Shredder, and your goal is to get 6 guns as soon as possible. Don't worry about whether they are normal or cursed because if you find a cursed equivalent down the line you can combine a non-cursed and a cursed of the same rarity and the upgraded rarity one will become cursed. If they aren't the same rarity and you're full on weapon slots, just slowly sell off your normal weapons.
Remember, just lock items if they are normal and buy them if they're cursed. This run is largely RNG dependent because you're hoping your fish hook curses items. Sometimes you get lucky and they'll curse right away, other times you'll go several waves which makes things tougher. You can find more fish hooks to make the chance higher for items to curse.
For reference at the end of my run I had 78 curse and I melted the boss in less than 20 seconds with no issues. I strongly recommend getting luck and lifesteal for your level up rewards. If those don't appear, extra HP helps to deal with the stronger damage output of cursed enemies. Dodge or armor are good choices. Really anything except melee or elemental damage will help you in the long run. I didn't bother with harvesting at all for this character because you'll have a ton of materials from waiting for items to curse.
Good luck, have fun!

This character is a ton of fun to play as. Every wave, you lose a huge amount of Range, basically forcing this character into a close range build. Go all in on Melee Damage, Attack Speed, and Speed. Run through mobs to slash them to pieces. Having high Dodge is a good idea too considering how much more likely you are to take damage while rushing through groups.
You could try to fight against the Range decreases by choosing stat boosts to Range, and that could work decently well, but why not just enjoy this character as designed?
