How to unlock the Engineer achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide

This is one of the easier characters to finish on Danger 0 (starting difficulty). You do need to unlock the Engineer first, which you do by having 5 "turrets" simultaneously at any time. They don't actually need to be turrets; gardens appear to count as well. Regardless, if you focus on buying turrets in any given run, you should be able to qualify for the "Builder" achievement, and unlock Engineer. Note that the "pocket factory" item generates turrets that do not count toward the required five turrets.

Once you've unlocked engineer, start a run with one. Your goal is to get through 20 waves, the last of which has a boss in addition to the standard enemies. You can do this on any difficulty level, Danger 0 being the easiest. Note that there are difficulty adjustments in the pause menu that allow you to reduce enemy health, damage, and speed; reportedly these accessibility settings do not affect the achievements.

Weapons
In most of these achievements ("Win a run with X"), you want to focus on a small number of weapons so they're easy to get upgraded. In the case of the engineer, I went with screwdrivers and wrenches - pure melee. Most of the killing will be done by your turrets. Always upgrade your weapons to the next tier whenever possible; I stuck with more wrenches than screwdrivers (i.e., turrets rather than landmines). You can combine weapons in between waves to upgrade, or even buy better ones outright. Note that you can buy a weapon even if you don't have room for it in your build as long as it can be combined with one you're holding for an immediate upgrade.

Stats and Upgrades
For stats, focus on Engineering above all. Dodge is helpful, as is armor, max HP, health regen, and speed. You want to be able to survive while the turrets take out enemies. For secondary goals, it's not a bad idea to magnify explosion size and damage if that's available, as well as elemental damage if you have turrets that deal it. Always buy any available turret item, period. If you don't have the cash, you can lock an item and it will stick around even through waves until you unlock it or buy it.

Feel free to experiment with any interesting-looking upgrades you can afford, and try to pick up as much material as you can during a wave without getting killed. Kiting in circles around your turrets is a good default pattern, just stay close to the turrets unless you're overpowered or have a good opening.

If you come across any game-breaking builds, let me know and I'll update the guide, but this character doesn't require too much effort in comparison to some others. Hopefully you can just have fun with it!

Select this Brotato before a run and complete it by killing the boss/bosses on Wave 20. Difficulty or Enemy settings (in gameplay options) do not matter.

For an easier run play on Danger 0 with Enemy settings for Health, Damage, and Speed to 25% which is the minimum setting.

For an average or more difficult run play on Danger 5 with Enemy settings at default.

For survivability be sure to build items/upgrades with Max HP, HP Regeneration, and Lifesteal bonuses. Building items and weapons that synergize with your character's stats is recommended.
