How to unlock the Entrepreneur achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide
TLDR;
The Entrepreneur prevents you from carrying over materials between waves, meaning you are limited to spending only what you earn in each wave. Investing in some harvesting and material generation/saving items early on is essential. The damage modification reduction isn't too significant and shouldn't prevent you from playing the game normally. Your success largely comes down to luck and how well you can create a thriving economy in the earlier waves which allows you to buy more and better items through rerolling.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intro
Entrepreneur is one of the harder Brotato achievements due to the character's unique traits. If you haven't already unlocked the character you must first complete the hoarder achievement (Hold 3000 materials).General Tips
As with all Brotato character achievements, they can be completed on Danger 0 which is the easiest difficulty. It is also possible to make the game easier in the settings by lowering the Enemy settings for Health, Damage, and Speed. However, this isn't necessary.Character Traits
Benefits- 25% discount on items (an item that costs 20 materials normally will cost 15)
- Harvesting modifications are increased by 50% (an item that might give +10 harvesting actually gives +15)
- Gain 25% more materials from recycling items (an item that might recycle for 20 actually recycles for 25)
- Lose all materials at the start of each wave (You can't roll over materials between waves)
- Damage modifications are reduced by 50% (an item that might give +10% damage actually only gives +5%)
Playstyle
As you can see from the traits above the Entrepreneur requires a unique playstyle. Rather than saving materials between waves to purchase better or more useful items later on, you must spend all your materials after each wave or they will be lost. As such, you need to make a build around what you're given and you are more dependant on Luck than with other characters.Since items and rerolls will cost more as the game progresses through the waves and the maximum materials you can obtain is severely limited, invest in some Bags and Harvesting modification items early on if they appear in the shop. Items to look out for include; Fertilizer, Wheel Barrow and Crown.
Moreover, general material saving/earning items like Dangerous Bunny (1 free reroll each wave), Coupon (5% discount on items), Metal Detector (5% chance to double the value of picked up materials) and Recycling Machine (Gain 35% more materials from recycling items) can provide a nice bonus if picked up early enough. The Dangerous Bunny being the priority as in the later waves it will pay for itself in one turn.
In order to make the most of your materials, you need to take full advantage of the "reroll" and "lock" functionalities that the game provides. When levelling up you can reroll stats once or twice in hopes of getting a better set of options if none of them are appealing. Similarly with items, when you get to the point where you don't have enough materials to buy what you want "lock" it for after the next wave and use your remaining materials to "reroll" the shop. Repeat till you can no longer afford to reroll.
Build
Aside from losing your money after each wave, the only other negatively impacting trait that the Entrepreneur has is the 50% reduction in damage modifications. However, this isn't significant enough to prevent you from creating any build you would normally. As such, a generic melee or ranged damage and attack speed build should work just fine.That said, you could choose to ignore damage completely and invest in an engineering build. Engineering ignores your character's main statistics apart from "Engineering" and "Attack Speed" meaning you won't be affected by the reduction in damage modifications. An example build would be to focus on engineering weapons (e.g. 4 Wrenches 2 Screwdrivers) and pick up engineering modification items as well as turrets and landmines. Items such as Pocket Factory, Lumber Jack Shirt and Tree create a good turret generation combo meaning that between waves 1-19 your turrets will mainly deal with the enemies. Depending on the success of your build when it comes to the boss fight you can either kill the boss with your turret damage or just ignore the boss and focus on surviving.
Conclusion
Entrepreneur is a fun character that adds an additional challenge to the game by requiring you to successfully manage your materials. It is this more than anything else that will most impact your chances of success. Getting it right early on means you can play the game as you would any other character.TLDR;
